Dakshina Kannada → Dakshina Kannada district – As per, WP:CONSISTENT with all other articles of the districts in India. Hemant Dabral 03:23, 4 May 2020 (UTC)

- Hi Hemant Dabral,
- There is no need to suffix 'district' to Dakshina Kannada. The suffix only becomes necessary when there is a city/town with the same name. In such scenarios, the 'district' suffix is required to avoid ambiguity.
- Examples include Mysore/Mysore district, Dharwad/Dharwad district, Kolar/Kolar district, Bidar/Bidar district, Ernakulam/Ernakulam district, Coimbatore/Coimbatore district, etc. and several others. Here, there are cities/towns with those names as well. So the suffixes are added to their corresponding districts.
- But, in scenarios like Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, etc., there is no city/town with these names.
- Hence the renaming and move to 'Dakshina Kannada district' are inappropriate and not required.
- Thanks and Cheers,
