The Stuckists are a group of British artists who formed as an alternative to the Young British Artists (also known as "Brit Art") being patronised by Charles Saatchi. Stuckism was co-founded by Billy Childish and Charles Thomson, and named by the latter after the above quote, which was directed to Childish by then-girlfriend Emin. The group are defined by their Stuckist Manifesto that places great importance on the values of traditional artistic skills over the popularity of "easy" installation pieces.
