'''Dr. Jonathan Sarfati''' is a chemist, research scientist, and a young-earth creationist who works for the Christian apologetics ministry ] (AiG). He is very well known by those who are interested in the creation/evolution controversy. Sarfati is also a world ranked chess champion.
Dr Jonathan Sarfati was born in Ararat, Australia in 1964. He moved to New Zealand as a child and later studied science at Victoria University of Wellington. He obtained a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry with two physics papers substituted (nuclear and condensed matter physics). His Ph.D. in Chemistry was awarded for a thesis entitled ‘A Spectroscopic Study of some Chalcogenide Ring and Cage Molecules’. He has co-authored papers in mainstream scientific journals on high temperature superconductors and selenium-containing ring and cage-shaped molecules.

He has written and contributed to several books, including ''Refuting Evolution'', ''Refuting Evolution 2'', and ''Refuting Compromise''. They are among the best selling books on the AiG website. His book Refuting Compromise deals primarily with the claims made by the ] Dr. ]. Sarfati also is the author of numerous articles on the AiG website, as well as a frequent speaker at churches and other venues on the creation/evolution issue.
Dr Sarfati has been a Christian since 1984. He has long been interested in apologetics, the defense of the faith, and was a co-founder of the Wellington Christian Apologetics Society (New Zealand). Creation vs evolution is of course a vital area, because of the ramifications for the doctrines of Creation, the Fall which brought death into the world, and their links to the doctrines of the Incarnation, Atonement and Bodily Resurrection of the God-man Jesus Christ.

He often boasts about defeating evolutionists at their own game, and uses dirty language to accomplish that goal. Some might say that he is worse than ], because of the rhetoric that he espouses.
In August 1996, he returned to the country of his birth to take up a position as a research scientist and editorial consultant for the Creation Science Foundation in Brisbane. In this capacity, he is co-editor of Creation magazine, and also writes and reviews articles for TJ, the in-depth journal of creation, as well as contributing to the Answers in Genesis website.

It is often asserted that "Dr." Sarfati's credentials are spurious because, like most every other creationist propagandist, he is so ignorant even in the fields which he claims to be an expert in (chemistry).
In 1999, his first book was published—Refuting Evolution, and later that year he was a co-author of the updated and expanded Answers Book. The sequel, Refuting Evolution 2, was published in 2002. His latest book, Refuting Compromise, is acclaimed as ‘the most powerful Biblical and scientific defense of a straightforward view of Genesis creation ever written!’

Dr Sarfati is also an accomplished chess player. He is a former New Zealand Chess Champion, and represented New Zealand in three Chess Olympiads. In 1988, F.I.D.E., the International Chess Federation, awarded him the title of F.I.D.E. Master (FM). Dr Sarfati regularly accepts challenges from multiple players (12 is the most played simultaneously to date) where he is blindfolded.

Jonathan Sarfati pontificates on many subject that are out of his field of expertise. Therefore, much of his material seems to be very faulty, as even laypeople interested in evolutionary biology have pointed out. For example, Sarfati thinks that evolution isn't science because it isn't directly observable in the here and now, however, evolutionary biology ''can'' observe the effects of evolutionary history. They can scientifically identify ], similar anatomical and genetic structures, among other evidences like fossils. All of these evidences can be scientifically tested, and then the only coclusion we are left with is that evolution occurred. Sarfati's trivial knowledge of such elementary things like this make him one of the most dense "scientists" to ever walk the face of the earth.

"Dr." Sarfati also believes that humans and dinosaurs roamed the earth ''at the same time''. Real Ph.D scientists would never believe such a ridiculous thing, yet he asserts is aggressivly and dogmatically as if he has evidence that it's true! Many often wonder where his evidence is for believing such things like this, but he usually just directs his finger at the ] and says something "Bible says so, so I know so!" Can such a "Dr." really act and believe things like this? Well, it all depends, but many believe that his Ph.D might be similar to that of Dr. Dino (]), i.e., fake and easily gotten.

Another thing that makes Sarfati such a spurious and unreasonable "scientist", is that he often calls the theory of evolution "goo-to-you-by-way-of-the-zoo." What kind of tripe is that? It seems like a kid making fun of something that he can't deal with properly, so he calls it names! Many have asked Sarfati to either grow up or get out of the game of acting like a scientist. Many have called him silly and incompetent.

==Duck, Duck and Away!==

Sarfati is known for ducking questions, and wiggling out of specific details. He mainly speaks in broad generalizations (another indication that he's not a real scientist), and lacks details. For example, a web site's author had an email exchange with the "Dr." and asked him for a definition of what he calls a "Kind." Sarfati repeatedly ducked the questions and just said that species isn't precisely defined either. The author pointed out that there were at least published trees of what a species is, whereas Sarfati's "Kind" argument had nothing except vague articles published by dense Creationist organisations. This is merely one example of the duck they call Sarfati.

Dr. Jonathan Sarfati is a chemist, research scientist, and a young-earth creationist who works for the Christian apologetics ministry Answers in Genesis (AiG). He is very well known by those who are interested in the creation/evolution controversy. Sarfati is also a world ranked chess champion.

He has written and contributed to several books, including Refuting Evolution, Refuting Evolution 2, and Refuting Compromise. They are among the best selling books on the AiG website. His book Refuting Compromise deals primarily with the claims made by the progressive creationist Dr. Hugh Ross. Sarfati also is the author of numerous articles on the AiG website, as well as a frequent speaker at churches and other venues on the creation/evolution issue.

He often boasts about defeating evolutionists at their own game, and uses dirty language to accomplish that goal. Some might say that he is worse than Kent Hovind, because of the rhetoric that he espouses.

It is often asserted that "Dr." Sarfati's credentials are spurious because, like most every other creationist propagandist, he is so ignorant even in the fields which he claims to be an expert in (chemistry).

Sarfati's Creation Safari

Jonathan Sarfati pontificates on many subject that are out of his field of expertise. Therefore, much of his material seems to be very faulty, as even laypeople interested in evolutionary biology have pointed out. For example, Sarfati thinks that evolution isn't science because it isn't directly observable in the here and now, however, evolutionary biology can observe the effects of evolutionary history.
