Resource Request ShortcutsClick here to create a new request |
Finding a source
- Tips for finding a source yourself
- Send a request to the author(s) of research papers for a copy of their paper by email.
- Check what sources are available to you in The Misplaced Pages Library – editors active for at least six months with over 500 edits, at least 10 of them in the last month, and with no active blocks have immediate access to the Misplaced Pages Library Bundle.
- Available databases in the bundle include: Gale, EBSCO, JSTOR, Oxford and ProQuest
- Consider applying for access to additional Misplaced Pages Library sources at The Misplaced Pages Library Card Platform.
- Additional databases include: Newspapers.com, NewspaperARCHIVE.com, Project MUSE and Taylor & Francis
- Search for periodical titles in the Misplaced Pages Library database index at The Misplaced Pages Library/A–Z.
- Check on Google Books, or your local library or national library may be able to obtain it through an interlibrary loan or subscription.
- Search Google Scholar for archived copies of journals in institutional repositories.
- Check whether your alma mater's library offers electronic document delivery services for alumni, if applicable.
Note that sites like Library Genesis (LibGen) and Sci-Hub offer direct, free access to a very large range of publications, but there are legal questions around their use and neither the Wikimedia Foundation nor the Misplaced Pages community endorses them.
- Making a request
- A request may be an open question or you may ask for a specific journal, article or work.
- All kinds of sources are possible here: newspapers, magazine article, databases, encyclopedias, court decisions, laws, books, etc.
- We cannot perform full book copy requests due to copyright. Please ask for specific pages that relate to the article(s) you need them for.
- You may contact research helpers directly or make a request on this page.
- To receive email without disclosing your email address publicly, configure your email in Special:Preferences.
- Provide as much detail as possible: a full citation with author, title, publisher, and date or identifiers like DOI, ISBN, ISSN, PMID, OCLC, etc.
- Indicate which Misplaced Pages articles are being improved.
- Once a request has been fulfilled add the {{Resolved}} template.
- Filled requests are archived.
- Requests unfilled after three months will be archived.

Fulfilling a request
- Anyone may offer advice and fulfill requests.
- Indicate which part or parts of the request is being handled so others do not duplicate your work.
- Notify (mention) the requester using
{{ping|REQUESTER_USERNAME}}
. - You can:
- point to a pre-existing electronic document by giving its URL ( http://... )
- share scans of pages or documents using a file-sharing service, provided it is legal
- upload out of copyright works to Wikimedia Commons and/ or Wikisource (but be careful that this does not breach your own institution's policies)
- email a link or plain text to a requester using the Special:EmailUser feature but for attachments, you need to ask them to mail you first so you can reply.
Copyright tips:
- Respect copyrights and terms of services of any online services you use.
- Share content in a limited manner that is targeted at as few individuals as possible to achieve a specific improvement on Misplaced Pages. All content is shared under a presumed non-commercial, educational, fair use purpose in order to conduct research about topics on Misplaced Pages and/or to improve Misplaced Pages content.
- Share copies privately rather than with a publicly accessible link whenever possible. Copyrighted articles from print publications or copies obtained through online databases should not be uploaded for unrestricted distribution via open websites. Preferably, do not share login access codes for entire websites; rather, share only an individual copy of a resource.
- Remember that you take on the individual risk when sharing content, and act in a way that is comfortable and safe for you. Individual editors are solely responsible for sharing copyrighted content and assume all legal risks.

Sources from newspapers, official charts, and magazines between 1990-2010
Currently working articles for the following artist: Thalía, Gian Marco, Arena Hash, Christian Meier, Natalia Oreiro, Maricarmen Marín, Chayanne, and Anna Carina. I'm looking for information regarding their albums and songs such as: chart placements, certifications, sales, awards, and reception.
- Hoping to get information from sources like NewsBank, Oricon, or any other reliable source. If someone could help me with this, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks, FanDePopLatino (talk) 04:21, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
- @FanDePopLatino: It would be helpful if you could pinpoint specific articles within publications. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 18:07, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- @RandomCanadian: yeah sorry about that. Here are some of the articles:
Gian Marco: A Tiempo, Resucitar, Al Quinto Día, Días Nuevos, Se Me Olvidó, Lamento, 8, Resucitar, No Te Avisa, Desde Adentro, En Vivo Desde El Lunario, also his albums from 1990-1996 and his 2006 greatest hits album so that I can make articles for them
Christian Meier: No Me Acuerdo Quien Fuí, any of his other albums either solo or with Arena Hash and also his song "Carreteras Mojadas"
Natalia Oreiro: Natalia Oreiro, Turmalina, Cambio Dolor, Tu Veneno
Thalía: Thalía's studio albums from 1990-2009 and also the singles from the albums, Greatest Hits, Thalía con banda: Grandes éxitos, Thalía's Hits Remixed
Anna Carina: any of her albums and also her songs from 1998-2016
Maricarmen Marín: any of her solo albums
Arena Hash: any of their albums
Chayanne: any of his albums FanDePopLatino (talk) 19:20, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- @FanDePopLatino: What I meant was that RX is not for someone else to do the searching - it would be best if you instead provide precise citations for sources which you found but do not have access to (or at least, narrow the search by identifying specific issues of magazines or newspapers which talk about your subjects). Look at other requests on this page to see examples. Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 19:09, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- @RandomCanadian: oh okay. Sorry about that. If someone has information from NewsBank and Oricon book which list charts and sales because the Official site of Oricon Charts requires me to have an account or something to the the album's and song's performance on the chart. FanDePopLatino (talk) 19:20, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hey @RandomCanadian:, sorry about everything I wrote before. A friend on Misplaced Pages just taught me the proper way to make a request. So the information I'm looking for right now is regarding Greatest Hits (Thalía album). On this official website for Oricon it shows that the DVD sold in Japan and entered the charts. I can't see its chart position or sales number because I don't have an account with Oricon or have their sales book. If you or someone you know can find this information for me I would appreciate it. Thanks FanDePopLatino (talk) 04:07, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

Need reviews for wargame Armageddon: Tactical Combat, 3000-500 BC
To bring Armageddon: Tactical Combat, 3000-500 BC back from this revision, we have several old wargame magazines that I believe have reviews for the game, in case anyone is able to track any of them down:
Moves #7 ("A Guide to Conflict Simulation Games and Periodicals", George Phillies and Martin Campion)- Fire & Movement # 22 ("Long Ago and Far Away; Games of Ancient Wars and Battles", Peter Manti)
- Fire & Movement #71 ("SPI Pre-Modern Wargames", Joseph Miranda)
- The Wargamer Vol.1 #5 ("De-briefing: Prestags", Jim Hind)
Phoenix #1- Paper Wars #63 ("Prestags", Dan Vandenbroucke)
Thanks, BOZ (talk) 21:52, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- I moved the article back to draft space, and User:Guinness323 found a copy of the Phoenix review so I added that, but anything else anyone can find would help. :) BOZ (talk) 01:38, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
- I have not been able to discover the page numbers of the remaining articles, but have posted the titles and authors, if that is of some assistance in locating one or more of them. Guinness323 (talk) 02:21, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Need reviews for wargame Patrol
I moved Patrol (board game) to draft space, but to improve it enough to bring it back, we have several old wargame magazines that I believe have reviews for the game, in case anyone is able to track any of them down:
- Moves #28: "Patrol!: Tactics in the Raw" (Jon-Dane Lukas)
- Strategy & Tactics #45: "Simove Observations" (Gordon P. Cavis) ISSN 0049-2310
Fire & Movement #18:"Panorama: Sympathy for the Devil, Viet Nam Wars, 1965-1975" (Rodger MacGowan)The Wargamer Vol.2 #23: "The Grandfather of Modern War: The Great War, 1914-1918: World War One Games Anthology: Part 2 - Land Games" (Eric Lawson)Phoenix #21
Thanks, BOZ (talk) 03:25, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- @BOZ: it would definitely help people if you knew any of the page numbers so people could do ILL requests or scan and deliver requests. Also something like an ISSN ideally or even OCLC number ({{oclc}}) would make it so request fulfillers can easily tell if a local library has the right periodical, especially given how generic some of these titles are. E.g., Moves seems to be OCLC 3038035, 29442898, 248012045. Umimmak (talk) 04:59, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Guinness323: found the references for this game and the one above - do you know the page #s? BOZ (talk) 12:44, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- I discovered the box with my Phoenix magazines, and have added that review. Still looking for on-line resources re page numbers for the others. Guinness323 (talk) 17:52, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- I have not been able to find page numbers for these articles after a quick search, but I have added article titles and authors, if this is of any help. Guinness323 (talk) 18:16, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

Bahru Kegne source again. Articles of him in a youtube video, can the original articles be found? If it can't be found, can the youtube video be used as reference?
Hello, to improve several articles including List of musicians using Amharic vocals, and trying to create a article for Bahru Kegne, a notable Azmari, traditionel Ethiopian folk musician, that used to play for Emperor Haile Selassie. There's a mention of him on this site ] in blue with a link to a youtube video ]. The video displays articles about Bahru Kegne, for example 40 seconds in the video, if you pause it, you can read a piece of biography about his life, family & career. What comes after that are other artists talking in tribute of Bahru. The Ex (band) a Dutch band or Terp records probably wrote the articles in the video. I would like to get access to those original articles and use them as a source. Maybe it's archived somewhere? If not, can i use the youtube video as reference? Any other reliable sources about Bahru Kegne biography & music is very much appreciated. Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 02:34, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 01:39, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Dawit S Gondaria, the text in the YouTube video is a verbatim reproduction of the album's liner notes. If you'd like more specifics, I suggest contacting the label owners Terrie Hessels and Emma Fischer. Yet since liner notes are not subject to editorial review/fact-checking, they would not be considered reliable sources for use in an encyclopedia unless they've been republished elsewhere and subject to that editorial treatment. - Hello @Czar: i already reached out to Terrie Hessels from Terp records, he respondend. My initial question was about photo copyright, he indicated there is no copyright on the pictures, they received the pictures from Bahru Kegne family for it's inclusion in a 40+ pages booklet in the album containing biography, interviews with Bahru's descendants, statements of fellow musicians/former collegeaus about Bahru Kegne.
Content email June 10th in Dutch: (English translation by me, for the relevant parts)
terp@theex.nl Do 10-6-2021 13:00 Hoi Dawit!
Goed idee. Bahru is een fenomeen! (Good idea. Bahru is a phenomenon!) Ik luister nu net naar een trio cassette met Yirga Dubale, Damtew Ayale en Bahru. Wow! (I just listend to a trio cassette with Yirga Dubale, Damtew Ayale and Bahru. Wow!)
Die foto's kan je gewoon gebruiken. Voor de goede zaak! We hebben ze gekregen van Bahru's familie om af te drukken in het CD boekje. Echt een copyright zit er niet op. (You can use those pictures. For a good cause! We got them from Bahru's family to print them in the CD book. There's not an actual copyright on them.)
Schrijf je meer over Ethiopische muziek? Waar woon je? Kan ik je een boek en wat muziek sturen!
Hou me op de hoogte! Groet, (Greetings) Terrie Hessels.
I also received the content of a paywalled reliable source on May 25th via Resource Exchange . But the info in the booklet of Album contains more extensive information about other people(including relatives) about Bahru. Are you sure it's not considered reliable? "Worms". PC Review (41, 49–51). United Kingdom. 1995. ISSN 0266-321X.— there must be a review of Worms in one the issues, perhaps in 50 to 51. Also there's possibly a preview of this game in the earlier issues around 41 but not in 41 itself. The reason for me believing so is that it was mentioned in The One magazine that PC Review also expressed interest in this game. Unfortunately, most 1995 issues of this magazine are unavailable online."Worms". PC Games (8). United Kingdom. 1995. ISSN 1351-0290. — there could be a preview of Worms in this one too as it was also mentioned in The One as one of the magazines that participated in testing the early version of the game. It shut down before the game was released, but there still may be a preview, presumably in its March 1995 issue (008).
Hello guys, looking for particular articles from some old game magazines. I'm writing an article about Worms 1995 video game from scratch in the Russian Misplaced Pages (it is going to replace the existing stub and become featured). I was able to find most of the needed sources online, but some are unavailable, like these. Maybe I will add more articles from other magazines to my request some time later, but for now it's just what you see.
Thank you very much for your efforts. And please ping me if you're able to help and/or comment anything because I barely open English Misplaced Pages. Please DO NOT archive this until the request is fulfilled. I requested it in Augist 2020, and I'm still in need of those, but it got archived, so I'm reopening this. I am hoping that someone has a copy of the June 1996 issue of Game Informer. I am looking for information pertaining to the game Descent II, especially the review found in this issue according to the magazine's archives. Any other pages related to Descent II that may be encyclopedia-worthy would be great, but I would at least like to find out for myself whether the review has anything unique to say, or whether it is essentially just a repeat of the 23 reviews listed in the reviews infobox. Thanks in advance, FreeMediaKid! 21:46, 7 June 2021 (UTC) P.S. Sorry for not giving the page numbers. I have no idea what they would be, just that the review is in the issue. It ought to have an index, however.

Massive request - Latin American music charts of the 2000s decade
I'll be honest, this is going to be a pretty big request. I am requesting articles that list the top 10 most played songs of the week on Latin American countries in the 2000s decade. My Newspaper.com and Newspaperarchives.com accounts have expired and I am currently awaiting approval. From the Newsbank search, the earliest is from July 2003 with the publisher being named "Latam". The articles are titled "diez canciones mas populares" and from 2006 onwards is "10 canciones mas populares". Except for one article dated December 31, 1999, I cannot find articles for music charts prior to July 2003. If possible, I would prefer to get the articles zipped by year to make it easier to sort. I would really appreciate it! Erick (talk) 02:32, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

- 평양시에 부설될 무궤도 전차망 설계 착수 1959/02/02 page 2 for history of Pyongyang trolleybuses
Furthermore, I am looking for the full paper on these days to verify existence/ opening dates of these trolleybus systems, to be used in the list, since many are missing dates and to check the unsure dates. - @Warshy: I have done the needed changes to make the editor's name appear as the editor (ed.). Please see. --Gazal world (talk) 17:57, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

- Should I just conclude, from the lack on any response on this request here so far, that the above ] is just not available in any library in the North American continent, as the WorldCat record for it seems to imply? Thank you, warshy 17:38, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Warshy: The OCLC 11158605 record says that the book is available in US, Canada as well as in Germany. Wait for sometime if someone can get it for you by chance. I would also suggest you that you request this at German Resource Exchange page. I also found some more OCLC entry: OCLC 1014770014, OCLC 1159053067, OCLC 473299591, OCLC 466184829. Best. --Gazal world (talk) 17:56, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you so much Gazal world. The most complete record of the book seems to be the first alternate OCLC 11158605 you give above. That record says that the Hathi Trust has the item. Maybe I can reach it through the Hathi Trust? Or maybe someone here, with better access to it than I have, could get the 7 pages needed through it? I will try the other venue you suggest too. Thanks again, warshy 18:13, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Using the new OCLC 11158605 graciously provided by Gazal world above I was able to login into Hathi Trust as a guest, and I was able to locate the item's full record in their catalogue here. But the item, at least with my guest credentials, is of "Limited" viewability (Search only). Do other editors on this exchange have by chance more extensive viewability rights on Hathi Trust? Rights that would allow them to somehow peek at or download the pages I am looking for in this book/item, i.e. pp. 313-320? Thank you, warshy 21:11, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

STATE (263) Fond du Lac Ojibwe school: With new school comes renewed pride
I went to search "Fond du Lac Ojibwe school: With new school comes renewed pride " on Newspapers.com but only found a reference to the "Reader Direct Daily Menu" page, which talks about getting faxes of the latest news. Chapter 16 of Tom Karen's Toymaker?
Evening all,
Having been linked here from a happily resolved chat about possible copyright disputes through Google Books, thought I’d give this a shot.
Is anyone able to produce a copy of Chapter 16 of Tom Karen's Toymaker autobiography? It seems the author is talking about their time as a designer at Ogle Design, responsible for the design of the Dennis fire line of the 1980s, and I wonder whether there is anything to learn from that to add into any articles.
Think this is how it goes:
- Karen, Tom (12 November 2020). Toymaker: The autobiography of the man whose designs shaped our childhoods. Blink Publishing. pp. 162–173. ISBN 978-1-78870-087-0.

- @MezzoMezzo: This article is available at here at JSTOR in The Misplaced Pages Library Bundle. You should have access to it. If you can't see it, I'll send it to you. Thanks. --Gazal world (talk) 13:59, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

Access to the British Daily National Newspaper The Times

For Stephen Hogan
Does someone here subscribe to the British daily national newspaper The Times official website? I want the helper to forward an article behind its paywall at https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/actors-make-their-voices-heard-for-audiobooks-75vgqvj0d to the user: @TheBirdsShedTears: so that s/he/they could finish at least one of the few verifications. While I can access it via at least three different means, say Factiva, university library and national library of Scotland, it doesn't seem like he believes me or others. Essentially, we want to verify if the following sentences, "In the past, Stephen Hogan read novels such as Sebastian Barry's The Secret Scripture, John Boyne's The Heart's Invisible Furies, and Colm Toibin's The Heather Blazing. Until the pandemic, however, the Dublin-born actor was unfamiliar with home recording. "It was born out of a needs-must scenario," he explains, from his apartment in London. "I had always worked in studios, so this was a learning curve."" exist on the official website.

- That prose does exist in the article. ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 12:10, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! Could you please send the article from the official site in pdf to TheBirdsshedtears? Supermann (talk) 12:32, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Sure but I think thetimes.co.uk is scanned by archive engines. You can read it here: ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 13:55, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Huh, interesting. Wayback machine falls foul of the paywall and only captures the first three paragraphs, which is what caused this wee bourach in the first place. I'll keep this in mind, thanks CiphriusKane (talk) 15:56, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- It doesn’t seem like it can handle this non-pay paywall at https://airmail.news/issues/2021-8-14/ons-jabeur?fbclid=IwAR2JXb2F45WwfhyoM-Uo95I0jEBcOhA-8qUaKJsdtGXsdWbEX9UEchJvStM Any tricks? @ProcrastinatingReader:. Thanks Supermann (talk) 13:21, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the trick!!! Should wikipedia as a whole switch to this archiving mechanism? It seems way more powerful than the usual wayback machine that has been used. Supermann (talk) 01:29, 14 August 2021 (UTC)

August 23, 1987's newspaper headline
- August 23, 1987's any newspaper's headline
For Lithuania Other:Because I saw a lot of article write about there is something happened on that day, but I can not find any Reliable sources about it. Thanks, Jonathan5566{Talk} 00:25, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Jonathan5566: Are you referring to this event? The dates 23 August 1987 and 23 August 1989 are mentioned. The article has plenty of references. —Bruce1ee 10:34, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- "The MRP-AEG group held the Hirvepark meeting in the Old Town of Tallinn at the anniversary of Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact on 23 August 1987, demanding to disclose and condemn its secret protocol." I mean this one. Jonathan5566{Talk} 10:49, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Jonathan5566: It is unclear why you ask for a newspaper specifically. Newspapers on August 23, 1987 may not have foreseen the significance that the event would take on. The next year, The New York Times wrote: "Details of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, signed on Aug. 23, 1939, were disclosed by the Estonian-language daily newspaper Voice of the Nation on Wednesday and Thursday, and during an Estonian Radio broadcast Friday ... People in the three Baltic republics demonstrated last year on the 48th anniversary of the signing of the pact, demanding that its provisions be made public." ("Estonians Are Told of the Secret Hitler-Stalin Pact". The New York Times. AP. August 16, 1988. p. A7.) Their story doesn't mention the MRP-AEG or the Hirvepark, but sufficient time has elapsed that those details now appear in scholarly books, such as:
