I shall remove all the subsections of the article's chapters (with subsections I mean sections like "Holy Roman Empire", "German Empire", "First World War" etc in the History chapter, for example). That would automatically shorten the article. The idea with the subsections originally came to me when studying the structure of the Japan article - see for example the chapter "Society" there, which I copied and which you dissolved. Since they appear to offend you, the subsections will go.
You in turn will need to accept that the text of the article will not be shortened.
