Leah Boyd

You challenged the notability and referencing of the Leah Boyd article. What specifically were your concerns?--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 12:54, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

3family6 -- The article is about an individual who is most notable for being a state-level beauty pageant contestant and running a Twitter account with 20k followers. She's probably a lovely individual but this does not meets the standards for WP:N. Regarding the sourcing and again per WP:N, only the Christianity Today source would be a reliable source to get information from for a notable figure. Going through the rest of the sources, one is a unnotable local-level profile on a high schooler, one is her own personal website which should not be used as a source, the The Economist article is unrelated to her and would be considered original research (WP:NOR), and the rest are simply beauty pageant results. Holidayruin (talk) 16:22, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

Being profiled in the flagship publication for American evangelicalism is certainly significant and notable. That feature alone I'd argue is enough to demonstrated notability in this case. The additional mention in The Economist, which is significant coverage, helps bolster that. The Madison Record is certainly a reliable source, so the reliability tag is erroneous. That source also helps bolster the notability provided by the CT source. Boyd's webpage is being used here as a primary source by the subject about themselves to make straightforward factual claims, which is a legitimate use of primary sources per WP:PRIMARY. It is not being used to demonstrate notability at all. I agree that the pageant reporting itself would not provide notability, but those sources are being used to make verifiable claims about the subject, not support notability (although they might also bolster the notability of Boyd as supplements to the CT report). Lastly, it appears that another editor has weighed in and removed that tags (also keep in mind that several editors had already viewed the page and the article went through the DYK process).--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 22:16, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
Also, your claim about The Economist reference being original research is false - Boyd was sought out for a quote regarding the subject of the story.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 22:19, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm CorbieVreccan. I noticed that you recently removed content from Skin-walker without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Misplaced Pages with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - CorbieVreccan 22:30, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

I didn't remove anything. I reorganized the information so that there's no floating quotation, which is unfitting Misplaced Pages's style. But no information was removed. Holidayruin (talk) 22:52, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 11

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hwang Kyo-ahn, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page People Power Party.

46 (album) moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, 46 (album), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Misplaced Pages). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Misplaced Pages's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ⚠

Thanks for uploading File:46 Kino album 1983 release.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:03, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

I already knew about this Gallup Korea poll, thank you for mentioning it anyway. I updated the statement, I wrote that sentence on my first day of wikipedia when I was even more unsure of what to write than I am now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hong kuslauski (talkcontribs) 00:24, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

@Hong kuslauski: I did move your new edit about the poll to later in the introduction, where I think it better fit. But info like that is important in talking about his modern legacy in South Korea. Alert

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in discussions about infoboxes and to edits adding, deleting, collapsing, or removing verifiable information from infoboxes. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Misplaced Pages's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
