Daniela Mercury (born Salvador, Bahia, 28 July, 1965) is a Brazilian singer in the MPB and axé styles. She is strongly influenced by the tropicalismo movement. Her music is driven by insistent percussion (she has used Olodum on some tracks), and makes frequent local references, including Carnaval and Candomblé. Her records include:
