Yuan has a career-high WTA singles ranking of 145 on 7 March 2022 and a best WTA doubles ranking of 281 on July 12, 2021.

Yuan made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2018 Jiangxi International in the doubles tournament, partnering with Liu Yanni.
