MBC 4 is a free-to-air television channel targeted towards women and teenagers. It is owned by MBC Group. Subtitled in Arabic language, the channel focuses on wide variety aspects of television shows. In addition, it also broadcasts news segments every day. MBC 4 more tends to screen dramatic or reality perspectives. For example, reality shows, talk shows, K-dramas, Turkish and Latin dramas dubbed in Arabic, Western dramas, as well as infotainment shows. It was launched on 1 February 2005 at 5:00 P.M. (GMT).

Unlike its sister channel MBC Action, which attracts young male adults with action and thriller genre, MBC 4 features more dramatic and reality perspectives and attracts women viewership. However, the women viewership trend is disputed in recent transmissions. It is subtitled in Arabic language with exception of news segments. Due to screening wide variety television shows, MBC 4 focuses on reality shows, K-dramas, Turkish and Latin dramas dubbed in Arabic, Western dramas, and infotainment shows.

MBC 4 started airing Nickelodeon shows including Victorious, iCarly, Sam and Cat, The Thundermans and Drake & Josh following the closure of Nickelodeon Arabia in 2011.

MBC 4 is extremely popular in the Middle East and North Africa for showing the latest Western shows, such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed, to sitcoms like Friends and Malcolm in the Middle, Days of Our Lives, Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. The downside of this all is that MBC 2, MBC 3, MBC 4, MBC Action, and MBC Max all show year-old movies and TV programs; most of them are re-runs and they all are edited: taking out all drug use, sexual content, and to cut it down to its time frame. It is one of the many spun off channels from the Middle East Broadcasting Center (MBC). Before this channel was launched, all its shows were formerly on Channel 2. However, a few years after launching Channel 2, now known as MBC 2, all programs except for the movies were separated into MBC 4, so that MBC 2 is now solely a 24-hour film channel. In spite of this separation, MBC 4 did later broadcast its own selection of films, although only two films weekly at most, and the films are usually of the romantic genre. The Turkish and Pakistani television shows are dubbed in Syrian Arabic.

Notable Arabic shows include Ruby, Fatma, Oghneyat Hob, Ba’at Al Ward, Khareef al Hob and Nesa'a Ha'erat.
