Khowar is the official language of Chitral District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district, Pakistan. Kalasha is the second language spoken in Ayun, Birir, Bumburet and Rumbur, Persian is also third language spoken in Garam Chashma valley by 2000 population and in Madaklasht valley and spoken small amount in Upper Chitral regions.
The kho and kalash people are main tribe in Chitral District The Khowar language which have many Persian Arabic Urdu And ancient Greek loanwords. Persian language, is third language which was former official language in Chitral princely state is spoken in upper chitral including Garam Chashma, Madaklast and Upper Mastuj valley.
There are 14 different languages spoken in Chitral including Balti, Burushaski, Dameli, Doomaki, Dari, Dangariwar, Gawar-bati, Kalkoti, Kamviri, Kohistani, Khowar, Kygryz, Munji, Palula, Persian language, Yidgha, Wakhi, Shina, Tajik, Torwali, Ushojo, Uzbek, Wakhi.
