Deer Avenger is a series of video games about a deer who hunts humans. It was developed by Simon & Schuster Interactive and Hypnotix. It is a parody of the Deer Hunter series of games.

Games

Bambo

The protagonist of the game is a deer named Bambo, a portmanteau of the action hero Rambo and the Disney character Bambi. He is a bipedal deer who hunts humans in a fashion similar to typical deer hunting in order to avenge all deer hunted by humans. Bambo comically mounts "heads" of his enemy on his wall, or "trophies". The Opening scene shows us that he has the power to escape trophy mounts comically. He can tote a vast array of weapons ranging from slingshots to machine guns. He is voiced by Brian McCann, who frequently appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

In the first three games, Bambo has a sleek physique with a bandana tied around his forehead, a reference to the "Rambo" series, a forest green hunting vest, and an ammo bandolier. However, in the fourth game, Bambo has a broad-shouldered, muscular physique, as to chain to perspectives from the time.

Although being a somewhat crude Deer, some farts and deer puns, Some adult Jokes will fly over children's heads, as they often do from the time. some violence is referenced but it is not too heavy. The game has a looney tune or tom and jerry-esq art style, as well as silly cutscenes from the time. No Game Data has been dumped at this time.

Starting with Deer Avenger 3D, polygon characters are used.

Deer Avenger: Stag Party is a box set containing the first two games in the series.

Deer Avenger: Open Season is a compilation of the first three games in the series.

There was originally going to be a fifth game to be released, But due to monetization of the game it never happened.

Having 5 games in the series it was a good game for the time. The looney toon-esq Aesthetic and cutscenes allowed for it to have a child friendly scope, as well as some Innuendos that would have naturally flown over children's heads at the time. As also due to the rarity of the game, some of the only ways to obtain such a classic, you would have to find an official outlet or store, or pay a pretty penny on eBay, or any other second hand shop. Other then that due to it being abandonware, it is possible to go to an abandonware site. Though we do not recommend such ways of emulation, we will not stop you, considering titles like "Doom" being emulatable.
