	The thirteenth and final episode, which was originally scheduled to be available on February 19, has been delayed multiple times. According to the Day Break page at abc.com, after several missed release dates, the show will premiere sometime "this week", the week ending March 3.

			The cancelling of Day Break was met with alot of questions and anger from its loyal, though not large, viewing base. Many thought that the show was not given enough of a chance and should have been given another week or two to establish itself. Given the type of show that Day Break is, a serial drama, it would have been difficult and unlikely for it to pick up many viewers who had not seen the preceeding episodes. Others were upset because the show replacing it, The George Lopez Show, would only be playing previously aired episodes and would not give a signifigant ratings boost either.

			In order to try and satisfy the shows remaining fans ABC announced that they planned to show the remainging episodes through their streaming media player on ABC.com. This plan has almost backfired on them though due to numerous release date delays, particularly with the long awaited series finale which has been delayed for 3 weeks. Though ABC has been tight-lipped on the exact reason of the delay it has been reported that they are removing some parts of the soundtrack of the show in order to replace them with lesser known, and in turn cheaper, musical tracks. Without the ad revenue from showing these episodes on primetime TV ABC executives could not justify the royalty fees to go along with the songs. Many are now asking though if it would have been better to just pay the royalty rather than upsetting and alienating many Day Break viewers.

			Whether or not this fiasco will have any long term effects on ABC ratings is unlikely, but still yet to determind. They will have to be careful on how they market any other serialized drama they plan to air in the future. After seeing how they treated Day Break many viewers may be leery to regularly watch any similar show out of fear they will fall in love with another show only to have it be taken away.

Day Break is a television program on ABC in the United States and on Global in Canada for which one 13-episode season was produced. The series stars Taye Diggs as Detective Brett Hopper, who is framed for the murder of Assistant District Attorney Alberto Garza. Due to a time loop, Hopper lives the same day over and over. The series revolves around his attempt to solve the mystery of the murder, and find out who is behind the conspiracy to frame him.

The series premiered on November 15, 2006. Rapidly declining ratings resulted in the show being pulled from television on December 15. ABC.com currently has the first 12 episodes available to view. The network initially stated that the remaining episodes would be released on-line at ABC.com, on Thursdays at 2 a.m. PST, the day after they would have been aired on television. Synopsis

Template:Spoiler Los Angeles Detective Brett Hopper is stuck repeating the same day, in which he is framed for the murder of the Assistant District Attorney, Garza. Each day, he attempts to uncover clues to the homicide that has him on the run for his freedom. Hopper must clear his name, but those close to him get caught in the web of conspiracy that will put their lives in danger.

The days can get complicated with each decision he makes. He can face the problem and hope to break the loop or walk away - if he can.

While episodes may start at any time of the day and may contain multiple days or parts of days, Hopper begins each day by waking up at 6:17 a.m. and viewing his clock at 6:18 a.m. Hopper only carries his memories and his body, with any injuries, over into the next repetition of the day. However, injuries sustained to other individuals do not carry over to the next day. If Hopper makes enough of a difference in one situation, related events are sometimes altered.

Main characters

Brett Hopper, played by Taye Diggs, is the main character of the show. He is a detective who is framed for the murder of Assistant District Attorney Alberto Garza.

Rita Shelten, played by Moon Bloodgood, is Brett's girlfriend. She is a nurse and is targeted by those who are framing Brett.

Jennifer Mathis, played by Meta Golding, is Brett's sister. She is a school teacher.

Andrea Battle, played by Victoria Pratt, is Brett's current partner. She is also a detective and is being investigated by Internal Affairs because of some shady dealings with her informer "Slim". She is romantically involved with Eddie Reyes, a former cop with a drug addiction.

Damien Ortiz, played by Ramon Rodriguez, is Brett's informant. He is a gang member that decided to turn against his gang. His safe house was ambushed the night before the repeating day, but he escaped.

Chad Shelten, played by Adam Baldwin, is Brett's former partner. He is now a detective in Internal Affairs. He is also Rita's ex-husband.
