The small region which has a five villages: Dah, Hanoo, Garkon, Darchik and Chulichan, located on both sides of the Indus River of lower ladakh, which are together called the Aryan Valley. It is located at around 200 km from Leh. It is a home to the Brokpa people.
HISTORICAL SITES
Malmal khutu: It is a place where Bononah festival used to held in ancient period .
RUI Khati side : It is located at around 2 km from Garkon monastery .There is a saying that demon used to eat little children every year , and Guru Padmasambhava miraculously appeared and put the demon to death inside the high Rocky mountain in and covered the hole of that mountain with black circular stone . At present ,that mountain is naturally designed with colorful image which is believed to be a body print of Padmasambhava.
ARUSKI-DHA FORT . Aruski is the old settlement of Dah village where all the houses were built inside a strong rampart.There was a fort at the main entrance. Some ruins of houses and a portion of the fort can only be seen at present.
Climate and Cultivation
The temperature in Dah Hanu of Aryan valley is warmer than other parts of Leh as it is located at a comparatively lower altitude. This climate helps the cultivation of apricot, walnut,Wine Grapes, and cherries in these valley.
