At approximately 11:57 pm on November 19, 2022 (three minutes before Transgender Day of Remembrance), at least five people were killed and eighteen injured in a mass shooting in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The suspected shooter was injured and taken to a local hospital. The shooting occurred at a gay bar named Club Q. Colorado Springs Police stated that a "suspect is being treated, but is in custody."

According to a statement by the club on social media, it was the "quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman." The club also stated it was "devastated by the senseless attack on our community.", and offered condolences to the victims and their families.

Suspect

The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich (born 2000), a local citizen from Colorado Springs. It was unknown if he lived in Colorado Springs throughout his life, but in June 2021, he was previously arrested for a bomb threat at the Lorson Ranch neighborhood section of the city.
