Scotland

Hi, Monopingo - I'm wondering what's up with your removing mentions of Scotland from various Celtic and Gaelic articles? Many of the topics you're editing are part of both Irish and Scottish history, mythology and culture. I seriously don't think anyone is going to think one is being denigrated if both are included. Slán ~ Kathryn NicDhàna 00:15, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Please do not remove content from Misplaced Pages, as you did to Template:Celtic mythology. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. ~ Kathryn NicDhàna 00:54, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Template:Celtic mythology, you will be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages. ~ Kathryn NicDhàna 02:48, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Book of Lismore

It may be that I'm being unreasonably strict, but the Book of Lismore article seems to me to be too close to this. Angus McLellan (Talk) 14:16, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, currently it's hiding its light under a bushel. All that anyone will see on the page is a dirty great {{copyvio}} template. There's a fine big modern article here that could be paraphrased easy enough, and parts of the book are online at CELT and Lampeter University in public-domain translations by Whitley Stokes. Angus McLellan (Talk) 15:18, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

RE:Gaels

Misplaced Pages is not the place to change terminology. Old Scottish and Middle Scottish might be a legitimate potential phrase to use for the Picto-Gaelic spoken in early Scotland, but no-one uses these terms and that's simply that as far as wiki is concerned. Calgacus (ΚΑΛΓΑΚΟΣ) 14:41, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Why was Pictish mythology removed. I had a very good article on it, about 500 words. Doesn't make sense. Manopingo 23:51, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Do you actually seriously believe that MacPherson introduced the Fenian cycle to Scotland? Calgacus (ΚΑΛΓΑΚΟΣ) 17:07, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Generally, it's better to know about things before you make comments. That way you don't mislead people who are trusting or get yourself into unnecessary pickles. There's loads of stuff about MacPherson and all that on JSTOR ... e.g. Irish Re-Creations of the Gaelic Past: The Challenge of Macpherson's Ossian; obviously the newer the better. Vandalism

Please do not delete content from articles on Misplaced Pages, as you did to Tuatha Dé Danann. Your edits could be considered vandalism, and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Nicknack009 22:48, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to delete or blank page contents or templates from Misplaced Pages, as you did to Scota, you will be blocked. Nicknack009 23:06, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you vandalise Misplaced Pages, as you did to Scota, you will be blocked from editing. Nicknack009 23:19, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, we remind you not to attack other editors, as you did here: User talk:Nicknack009. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - Alison 23:47, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

You are so cruising to get blocked for 3RR on the Scota article. Seriously! Can you not discuss your grievances on the talk page or something? - Alison 23:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Ok - hold off everything for a minute - don't block this user until we give him one more chance. - Alison 00:12, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Celtic mythology template

Ok. Hold up everything for a second.

Manopingo - I've brought this up on the talk page clearly and concisely. You're about to be blocked if you go any further down this path. Before you do, can you please explain clearly and concisely here with exactly what the issues are and let the other editors respond. There must be room for compromise here somewhere. So please - cool down and try discussing it there. I expect the other editors to comment accordingly and give this editor a bit of space - Alison 00:15, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
