Dom Phillips, missing British journalist
I recently created a draft for journalist Dom Phillips. He went missing on Sunday while on a remote part of the Brazilian Amazon. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Thriley (talk) 00:09, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
Wikifact
Hello. I would like to share a vision for a real-time fact-checking resource: Wikifact. I hope that the project is of some interest to those who contribute to Misplaced Pages in this journalism portal.
https://meta.wikimedia.org/Wikifact
In the not-too-distant future, it may become possible for end-users to fact-check arbitrary portions of documents in word processors and Web browsers simply by selecting content, using context menus, and making use of crowdsourced, collaborative resources such as Wikifact. End-users would be able to select content from social media websites, news articles, digital textbooks, or arbitrary other documents and websites, and then open context menus providing options for exploring, e.g., fact-checking, the content.
I am hoping that more people will express interest on the project proposal’s website. I am hoping to publicize the project proposal. I am hoping to disseminate these ideas.
Please express your support for or opposition to the proposal on the project’s wiki page. We also welcome any of your comments, questions, or feedback with respect to the proposal, in particular ideas for improving it. Please feel free to share any of your ideas in our talk pages.
Thank you, AdamSobieski (talk) 09:42, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Splitting the editorial board content off the Wall Street Journal article
Recently a child article of the Wall Street Journal article was created around the paper's editorial board . I think this is a split that could use some review. Please see the discussion here . Springee (talk) 01:27, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
Avisa Partners/Nativiz/iStrat
People here may wish to keep an eye on the article Avisa Partners (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs), since it relates to journalism in France and beyond. Boud (talk) 19:08, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
The Points Guy - update assistance
I suggested a few updates for The Points Guy here Talk:The_Points_Guy#Proposed_Updates_to_Article to help fix the article (missing sources, outdated information, etc.). I’d edit the page myself, but have declared a COI. Is someone from this project able to review the suggestions and update the article accordingly? Thanks.Cheergirl325 (talk) 15:36, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

Alden Global Capital versus Digital First Media
Digital First Media (DFM) is the official name of the media/newspaper-publishing division of Alden Global Capital. We have an article on each entity. Increasingly, though, when comment is made on this company, the only name used is Alden Global Capital. Here's an example from the New York Times from October 6, 2022. The gist of the story in the New York Times is that "Publications owned by the hedge fund Alden Global Capital, the second-largest newspaper publisher in the country, will no longer endorse major political candidates in their opinion pages." That's a decision about editorial content, obviously. Nowhere in the NYT article does the phrase "Digital First Media" appear. Looking through Google search results over the last year for "Digital First Media", it doesn't get many. (Alden Global gets a lot.) I'm not 100% sure where to go with this, but there doesn't seem to be much point in elaborating within the Digital First Media article about this new editorial policy. Just looking for some guidance on this perplexing situation. Novellasyes (talk) 18:33, 13 October 2022 (UTC)
