== Know-Nothing edits == | |||
Hi, I was wondering what you meant when | |||
{{tq|Know Nothings are occasionally referred to as an antisemitic movement due to their zealous xenophobia and their religious bigotry; however, '''the movement was openly hostile towards Jews because its members and supporters believed that Jews did not allow "their religious feelings to interfere with their political views." The Know Nothing Party, prioritizing a zealous disdain for Irish Catholic immigrants, reportedly "had nothing to say about Jews"''', according to historian Hasia Diner. In New York, the virulently anti-Catholic Know Nothings supported a Jewish candidate for governor.}} | |||
You seem to be saying that the Know-Nothings were both openly''' anti-Jew,''' but that they also openly '''praised Jews''', but that they also '''had nothing to say about Jews.''' | |||
The first two propositions seem to me to be somewhat contradictory, while the third is mutually-exclusive with both of the first two; not to mention that they aren't supported by the sources that you cite. | |||
You seem to have made several edits like this to pages that I also edit, usually citing "NPOV", while the edits you yourself make seem to be POV, and often unsourced, while you often removed sourced material. Could you explain your logic here, on your talk-page, as you seem to refuse to do so on the relevant talk-pages for these articles? ] (]) 03:56, 19 April 2023 (UTC) |

- Whpq, can you post here the original text so that I can work from what I had originally added as a reference? I can't start from scratch and it would be going back to square one for me. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 03:17, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- No. It was a copyright violation and will not be restored. It is a violation of copyright policy for you to have copied the material into the article, and I would be committing copyright policy violation by restoring it for you. -- Whpq (talk) 03:22, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

Mar 8: WikiWednesday Salon by Grand Central | |
---|---|
You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community and visitors from the global Wikimedia Foundation for our WikiWednesday Salon by Grand Central, in-person at Convene 101 Park Avenue in the vicinity of Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal. No experience of anything at all is required. All are welcome! This is somewhat of a sequel to last year's Misplaced Pages:Meetup/NYC/Brunch in terms of the participants, though this time it is an evening event in a different borough. We may leaven the event with a few impromptu lightning talks, a Wiki-fashion show (yes, really!), and likely an afterparty tour. All attendees are subject to Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct. In addition, to participate in person you should be vaccinated and also be sure to respect others' personal space, and we may limit overall attendance size if appropriate.
