Malik Rose (born November 23 1974 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a National Basketball Association player with the New York Knicks. Rose was originally drafted in 1996 in the 2nd round out of Drexel University by the Charlotte Hornets. He graduated from Drexel with All-American honors after leading the Dragons to their lone NCAA Tournament victory. Rose is the second Drexel basketball player to play at the professional level. He was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in 1997, and was on the Spurs NBA championship teams in 1999 and 2003. On February 24, 2005, Rose was traded by the Spurs, along with a pair of first round draft picks, to the New York Knicks for center Nazr Mohammed and Jamison Brewer.
Rose graduated from the same high school (Overbrook) in Philadelphia as Wilt Chamberlain.
