I appreciate from your user page that you have strong views on civility, Americans, abusive administrators, and any number of related topics, so please accept this advice in the spirit in which it was given by a non-parochial American administrator who hasn't been unfrocked yet. Calling the nominator a "parochial American" did nothing to improve the discussion and simply made you a target. This isn't a game, not even cricket, we don't get to tally up the points we score off other people. Please consider this going forward. Question about cookies

Hey so I thought at first when I got the intro message from Misplaced Pages that it was automated only to realize it was from a real user. So how does it work, is their a team of you guys sending the messages, is it automated somehow, how do you find new users, etc? Also I noticed that on my mentors talk page that they had the message but that it came much later after they made the account and had already made many edits and was worded to acknowledge that fact, so how did they get the message later, can you only reach so many people, did you guys only start doing this recently? Also thanks for the cookies. Wik206 (talk) 00:25, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

(WP:Talk page stalker) Hey @Wik206! I'm not exactly sure how HiLo does it, but I use WP:Twinkle. When viewing the edits of someone who hasn't been welcomed, then there will be a button to press. Once you do, you will be redirected to their page where you can select a welcome message, such as the cookie one! You could also do it directly from their drop down menu on their talk page. I hope this helped! Cheers! Fakescientist8000 15:10, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

3DB

Regarding the Minstrels section of the 3DB page, I am making a compromise by deleting the link, but retaining the rest of the last relevant paragraph.

I certainly hope that you are comfortable with the compromise.

With best wishes: Albert Isaacs (talk) 03:08, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

No. The commentary doesn't belong in the article at all. It simply platitudes, and not about the radio station at all. And please take this discussion to the article's Talk page, as I requested, so that others might see it. HiLo48 (talk) 03:23, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

?

Wait, so does that mean you think that wikipedia should always use British spelling, which actually, for the most part, makes a lot less sense than the American spelling? Troopersho (talk) 18:17, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

No, I don't think that at all. Had you told me what article you are concerned about, I could probably have explained to you whatever apparent spelling correction you are concerned about, but you didn't, so I can't. HiLo48 (talk) 21:29, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
I'm not concerned about any article thank you. I hope you do well in all your endeavours goodb ye Troopersho (talk) 03:46, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
Troopersho - To help you better understand our spelling conventions here, I recommend a look at MOS:ENGVAR. HiLo48 (talk) 03:56, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
I just misinterpreted something you wrote on your page. goodb ye Troopersho (talk) 04:01, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

ITN/C

If you want my honest, true advice, mark this as "blurb under discussion", since technically you did begin the discussion of the blurb, in order to drive up the discussion, because screaming in uppercase letters does not work 99 percent of the time. Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 12:46, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

Fake - Actually, it almost always works, just as it did on this occasion. Note, YOU are the only one talking about a blurb. I didn't. HiLo48 (talk) 21:26, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
We all know what you meant, my friend. Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 21:28, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
I don't think YOU do. I DID NOT want a blurb for Booth. Brown shouldn't have got one either. Archie Roach should have though, but I knew it wasn't worth nominating him in that cesspit of US-centrism. HiLo48 (talk) 21:33, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

Help

I don’t know if I’m in trouble, but a user seems to be upset at me because I added a category to a blp and they believe that I’m doing it out of an emotional reason.

The article in question is Nick Fuentes. I added the category of “neo-Nazis”, and I was reprimanded by a user. I attempted to explain myself by stating that Fuentes’s statements, actions, and group associations justify him being in the category.

When I made a discussion on the talk page of the article, it was removed. Firekong1 (talk) 19:20, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

Firekong1 - Wow. Mr Acroterion is certainly determined to keep that category off Fuentes' page. I really can't see why. Given the other categories he is already listed as part of, "neo-Nazi" is hardly a significant addition. Personally, I would withdraw from the fight for the moment, for two reasons. One is what I have just written. It makes little difference to Fuentes' image whether he is labelled with that category or not. The other is the aggression coming at you from that other editor. I can't explain it. It doesn't seem rational. But it's also not likely to go away any time soon. Give it a few months. See how the article evolves. See what other editors do. Time often allows common sense to prevail on Misplaced Pages. Good luck. HiLo48 (talk) 22:37, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
Sure thing, thank you. Although I would state that adding the category for “neo-nazis” to his pa he wouldn’t be invalid.
Also, he threatened to block me, so I backed off and am avoiding editing any blp articles for the time being. Firekong1 (talk) 23:09, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
As I said, I couldn't see anything wrong with your addition, but yes, leave Fuentes alone for now. I can't see why you can't tackle other BLP articles though. HiLo48 (talk) 23:21, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
Of course, will do. But when it’s allowed, I will add the category of neo-nazis someday. Firekong1 (talk) 23:40, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

One more thing

I also had some trouble with another editor named bhagyamani because I was adding common names to pages of animals such as the bush elephant and the european marten, and I even had some sources where these common names were used. Yet, they removed it and refused to listen to what I had to say. I still think the common names should be on those pages and I'll add them there someday when the time is right. Firekong1 (talk) 01:21, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
