somanathapura edited

Hi, I edited this page http://en.wikipedia.org/Somanathapura

with stuff from this link http://temples.south-india-tour-package.com/karnataka-temples/somnathpur-temple.html

Please let me know if its ok, or whether it violates any copyright, and how do we put in the same information without violating copyright?

Thanks, user:Comman.man.wiki

If a link to a living biography is libellous, can it be deleted?

Dear BostonMA,

On page http://en.wikipedia.org/Maharishi_Mahesh_Yogi there is a link near the end of the page Falling Down the TM Rabbit Hole Criticism of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and TM by a former TM teacher which if examined is seen to fall into the category of libelous to a living biography.

I removed the link but an editor has put it back in. The website that is negative is self-published by the author who created it. He uses very strong statements that seem unbalanced. Do I have the right to remove it again? Somehow I think I do, but am feeling a little intimidated and wanted to confirm.

SSS108 recently recommended I call upon you if need some help. I am not new to Misplaced Pages though have not until recently seen what goes on behind the scenes. I like to help TimidGuy who has been trying to improve on the level of accuracy Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's biography. The other editors did allow some libelous material in the biography itself to be cut out, but they seem to feel that libelous material in a link is ok, although they do acknowledge it is a very negative link. Somehow I disagree--links also to a living biography should be balanced and not so somewhat deranged sounding as is the case with Falling Down the TM Rabbit Hole Criticism of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and TM by a former TM teacher.

Thanks for advising. Cordially Vijayante 01:18, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Major Sockpuppet abuse

Hi there, I remembered what a robust job you did at tracking down the numerous Ekajati sockpuppets, and I wanted to find out if you could help me or give me some tips on how to deal with a similar, albeit much easier situation: These diffs should give a good introduction: , Misplaced Pages:Requests_for_checkuser/Case/Watchtower_Sentinel, and the classic treatise (and this is just the pre-April2006 stuff) - . These two - Ekajati and NoToFrauds teamed up against me with a host of pups in 2006, which made me look really stupid because I acted like an ass and warred with them (call it neophyte follies). I since took a long sabbatical and have been playing very nice in 2007, but this particular guy wont let up. --Hamsacharya dan 03:03, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/Starwood

The above-named arbitration case has closed and the decision may be found at the link above. Rosencomet is cautioned to avoid aggressive editing of articles when there is a question of conflict of interest. If edit warring or other conflict arises, it may be best to limit editing to talk pages. This notice is given by a clerk on behalf of the Arbitration Committee. ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of Akshaya Patra Foundation

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Akshaya Patra Foundation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. GSS (talk|c|em) 16:32, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
