The death of Henry Kissinger ocurred in his home in Kent, Connecticut, on November 29, 2023, at the age of 100. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Maginnes Kissinger; two children, David and Elizabeth; and five grandchildren. His death was announced by Kissinger Associates, his consulting firm.
Kissinger was a beloved figure in China and his death was widely mourned among both government figures and on the country's social media and state media. News Service stated in his obituary that "Today, this 'old friend of the Chinese people,' who had a sharp vision and a thorough understanding of world affairs, has completed his legendary life". China Central Television, the state broadcaster, called Kissinger a "legendary diplomat" and a "living fossil" who had witnessed the development of China-U.S. relations.
