Sindhi refers to an ethnic group of people originating in Sindh which is part of present day Pakistan. Many Sindhis live in Pakistan but many Sindhi Hindus emigrated to India when the subcontinent was partitioned in 1947. The language of these people is also known as Sindhi.

Culture

Sindhi culture is pretty much of a mixture of Muslim and Hindu culture all religions are respected and a great unity between Hindus and Muslims is seen in Sindh when they visit the big Sufis. Marriages are organised in Islamic way but no marriage is complete without the centuries old traditions and rituals.
