Rîbniţa (Russian: Рыбница - Rybnitsa) is the seat of the Administrative Region of Rîbniţa of Transnistria. Its geographical location is 47°46′N 29°0′E / 47.767°N 29.000°E / 47.767; 29.000.
In 2005, Rîbniţa had a population of 53,648, out of which 45% were Ukrainians, 25% Moldovans, 24% Russians, and 6% others. A major steel factory exists in the city, which traditionally has provided between 40% to 50% of the country's income.
Rybnitsa was founded in 1628. The main street of the town is Pobedy str. There is only one supermarket there - "Sheriff". Cultural life of the town is very rich. A dance group "Yunost'" has been taking part in the most prestigious competitons in the world.
