2012 Assembly elections
Do we really need this section? I feel Gandhi was not an INC CM candidate for any of the the Assembly elections held in 2012, nor was he the main campaigner, as most of the major INC leaders campaigned equally. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance. 25 CENTS VICTORIOUS19:41, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
Calling for discussion upon this from fellow WikiProject Indian politics members, the election commission website links the most recent affidavit also does not mention Harvard University anywhere.
The citation also does not state that he completed his degree at Harvard, he was most probably relocated at Rollins College after his first year at Harvard according to credible sources. I will watch this space for any other opinions and change it after a week or two. Xoocit (talk) 18:36, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
Looking further into the subject, there are no credible sources that state he pursued a master's in economics in the first place. Not sure how this was introduced into the first place in this article. Xoocit (talk) 18:40, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
Rahul Gandhi has threatened, "If BJP wins these fixed elections, and changes the Constitution, the country will be on fire" at a rally while campaigning for the 2024 Indian parliamentary election

It's not up to me to decide. Your addition has been reverted, so you need to establish consensus before trying again, but you should take into account the advice you've received at the Teahouse and on your user talk page. Personally, I'd drop it and move on to something else. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:11, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
Hello @Haani40. Like I mentioned while reverting your edits, politicians in India make a lot of statements on a regular basis. Some find them controversial, while others support them. I was checking similar notes and found a statement by Amit Shah that "there will be communal riots in Karnataka if the Congress wins the Karnataka elections" or "If BJP Loses Bihar Elections, Crackers Will Go Off in Pakistan". It's very clear that such statements are made, especially by Indian politicians, purely based on winning elections. We are not supposed to include such parts only because you and I felt scared. Hope it helps! Thank you. 25 CENTS VICTORIOUS13:14, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

Political and social views
I will be completely revamping the political and social views section. You may notice frequent removals and additions of new content. I would be very glad to receive suggestions. Thank you. 25 CENTS VICTORIOUS21:37, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Kindly Change the image of Rahul Gandhi. It looks odd, old and he changed his appearance. Kindly update with latest picture otherwise keep the old one. Dr. Trafalgar D Water Law (talk) 01:01, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
The picture is already latest and there is no need of changing it. Misplaced Pages is not any album. ZenDragoX(User) | (Contact)09:13, 7 May 2024 (UTC)

The most recent image provides the most accurate representation of Rahul Gandhi's current appearance. People change over time, and using an outdated image might not reflect his current age, style, or demeanor accurately.
A recent image ensures relevance to the current period and context. If the purpose of the Misplaced Pages page is to provide up-to-date information about Rahul Gandhi, using a recent image aligns with that goal.
Users are more likely to engage with content that feels current and reflects the present reality. A recent image can capture attention and interest more effectively than an older one.
Using a recent image demonstrates transparency and commitment to keeping information current. It shows that the Misplaced Pages page is actively maintained and reflects the latest developments.
While historical context can be important, especially for figures with long careers or significant past events, the primary goal of an infobox is to provide accurate and relevant information about the subject as they are now. Therefore, using a 2024 image would be the most suitable choice for Rahul Gandhi's infobox on Misplaced Pages.
A portrait-style image with a white background often conveys professionalism. It provides a clean and uncluttered backdrop, allowing the focus to remain on the subject, in this case, Rahul Gandhi. Images with a white background are versatile and can be easily incorporated into various designs or layouts without clashing with other elements. Using a white background can help maintain consistency across Misplaced Pages pages. Many infobox images on Misplaced Pages use a similar format, making the layout cohesive and visually appealing.
In general I agree that the more recent image is preferable, given that he is still working as a politician. But there appear to be issues with File:Rahul Gandhi.png. I suspect that it is an edited PTI photograph taken in 2022. The photograph in this December 2022 India TV News story looks as though it was taken on the same day. Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style/Images#Editing images says that blurring the background is permitted - so blanking the background is probably also OK (though blurring would have been preferable). But it says all changes to images taken from outside sources should be noted on the image's description page. For images created by editors themselves, changes which could have been part of the image's original composition—such as rotation or minor cropping—need not be mentioned on the description page.c:File:Rahul Gandhi.png says that it is the uploader's own work. See c:User talk:Josve05a#Rahul Gandhi.png, which discusses issues with this photograph. So it is remains to be seen whether the image will remain on Commons.-- Toddy1(talk)11:33, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
I understand the logic behind recent images, but this rule of recent images does not apply throughout wikipedia, look at the page: Sonia Gandhi. However, the low quality image and editing with the background to white is what is putting the page off. If there is any new image which qualifies to what @Zendrago X is saying then it may be added.
