Hi, you can rename any pages (we call it moving) once you're autoconfirmed, you don't require administrator access to do this (although if you do want info on how to become an administrator you can find that at WP:ADMIN).

To become autoconfirmed your account must be 4 days old and have made 10 edits. From looking at your account history you need to make 8 more edits. In the meantime, you can open a page move request and someone with the required permissions will review and perform the move if it is accepted.

Hello! I'm new to wikipedia, but understand a bit how to edit data and have previously edited just without an account. I'm a community activist and write articles on my blog, when news from a reputable source is added -- sometimes I add it to the person. Hi, I've had a look at your edit history and I can't see any reverts, were you using another account or IP editing? If you're able to send the link to an alt account/IP account I can have a look and give some advice on that.

With regards to reverted edits in general, Misplaced Pages follows strict verifiability policy, meaning that all text must be verifiable by a reliable source, if you've sourced content correctly and it's being reverted you can revert it back (See WP:3RR first) and open a discussion on the talk page, feel free to tag me there if you need to do this and I can have a look too.

Hi @XrayNinerBravo, welcome to Misplaced Pages!

I found that it's something that I learnt along the way, Misplaced Pages has a lot of policies and guidance regarding editing and the style of writing. Some great resources are WikiProject Grammar, the Manual of Style (policies and guidelines for writing), and there's also a tutorial on how to get started on the Wiki. If you'd like to send me an example edit/page you're looking to do I'd be happy to provide some feedback. With regards to unbiased views, WP:RS is the place to go - I'd recommend reading that first.

It would depend specifically on what it is.

For example, if it's just an picture you've taken of a logo that would be copyrighted, if it's a picture you've taken of a logo on a building where the building is the main focus point that's (probably) fair use.

You are able to upload copyrighted content in specific circumstances, the policy regarding that is available here.

Do you have a specific example you'd like me to take a look at? This isn't my area of expertise but I'm happy to advise.

Hello, I'm trying to add a picture for the Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio of the caverns themselves in the infobox. Right now it only has the logo and I can't find an image of the caverns in Wikimedia. I have multiple pictures of the caverns that I took that I can use, but I'm just wondering how to upload them and how I can use them? Hi, you can upload images at WP:UPLOAD.

All images used on Misplaced Pages need to be under a license that we accept so that legally we can use them. If you took the image, you can decide the license yourself and use it freely wherever. If you didn't take the image, it'll need to aleady be under one of the accepted licenses. The file upload wizard I linked at the start of the message will run you through the entire process and add the required credit / license info to the picture, you can decide how you're credited and it'll show up when the image is clicked on.

You can use images anywhere like this: ]. There's an image button in the visual page editor which is much easier to use.

There's some examples of images I've uploaded here. There's 1 on there I took myself, the rest are from credited external authors.

Hi, a mentor is someone who helps newcomers to the website with any questions they have.

To become an administrator:

You must have years of a good edit history that shows you understand Misplaced Pages policies, have good judgement, a good temperament, and have a need for the administrator toolset. A nomination is then made at Misplaced Pages:Requests for adminship where the community decides if the user deserves the tools. Honestly, you can do 95% of tasks on Misplaced Pages without being an administrator. (Quote from WP:ADFAQ#BECOME)

MOPAC COI edit request

Hi. Thank you for following through on the COI edit request on the MOPAC page. You appear to be rather experienced in these matters, so I'd also appreciate a bit of follow-up guidance. Now that it has been acted upon, my COI edit request has been removed from the queue, so it doesn't look like I need to take further action there. The change logs of the MOPAC Misplaced Pages entry now refer to both my sandbox page and the MOPAC talk page as references to my request and my draft version of the entry. Should I retain my note on the talk page and my sandbox draft, or should I now delete them and rely on Misplaced Pages's version control to retain a past record of them? In particular, you made a permalink to the sandbox draft - will that link to the relevant historical state of my sandbox if I now clear my sandbox? Hi @Godotalgorithm, since it's removed from the queue/acted upon you can clear/blank your sandbox page for other uses - it won't break anything. The permalink I've put on the talk page is a link to that particular point in time on Misplaced Pages's page history system - It'll retain the historical version as seen when clicked on and won't be affected by any changes you make to your sandbox page. If you're interested you can learn more about permalinks at H:PERL.

Messages on talk pages should be left there, that is the general guidance across the website regardless of the talk page you're using. You don't need to take any further action on that edit request, you're welcome to open additional requests if you have more changes to make.

Hi @Clayton Cage, you can create a new page using the article wizard.

I'd recommend having a quick look at the biographies of living people policy first - it's a super long document but to sum it up: all content must be verifiable, meaning you must use reliable references to verify what you're saying about the artist is true; it must be written from a neutral point of view; and you must not use original research. This is required for articles about people.

I know all them pages create a massive reading list - don't feel like you have to read them all at once, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have as well and if you need any more help let me know!

Hi @Seachange2000, you can get started with creating a new Misplaced Pages article at the article wizard.

It'll guide you through the steps and give you some information about making a new article. You can write about what what you'd like to add to Misplaced Pages (for example, adding your existing content) once it's opened the editing screen and then submit it to be published. If you have any trouble with this let me know as I'm one of the reviewers for this process.

Since you're a member of the club, you have a conflict of interest, you're welcome to create the page but you'll need to disclose your conflict. The article wizard will guide you through this process.

Hi again Lew and thank you for the advice. I tried tomake a start but have a couple of questions.

I have written my article using MS Word on an Mac. It is 18 A4 pages and has about 12 of my own photos. I clearly have a conflict of interest as I have been a Club member since 1958. I am also the guardian for the club minutes which is the main source of everything I have written. The photos are mine and have been collected over the last 60 years. So my question is this: Can I open my Word document, press Control C then paste the whole document into my Wiki article? Or do I have to reformat everything and re-insert the photos?

Hi Bruce, you are fine to create the draft for submission as long as your conflict is disclosed, some changes may be requested depending on the content and sources.

Secondary sources are preferred, if there's any you could find (newspapers, online news, books, etc) to put alongside the primary sources that will increase the change of it being approved. It increases the verifiability of the content.

You are fine to Control C+P the document provided you wrote it, it might clear the formatting depending on what the formatting is, and you will need to re-upload the images though. You can do this at Misplaced Pages:File upload wizard then use the insert image button on the editing screen.

MY WIKIPEDIA PROFILE IS MASSIVELY OUTDATED + IS CAUSING PUBLIC MEDIA PROBLEMS

Hi. I please and urgently need your assistance. For over a year, I have been in contact with Wiki and volunteers and have sent multiple news sources of information about me and my company. I have followed all the directions given and still have gotten no where. The old and outdated information is literally causing problems with media outlets I am interviewed on globally and is hurting my small female owned business.

The note about me not being significant enough on the top of my profile is also massively insulting and not accurate. Upon some digging, I think you'd find I appear on TV around the world, my shows are distributed around the world and I have a significant social following (500k+ on all our digital platforms).

For example the opening paragraph is work I did in 2012, there is almost nothing of the past 12 years which is significant. I am not a blogger! I am a travel journalist and an award-winning documentary filmmaker- my shows are seen all over the world.

The TV segments mentioned are all from before the pandemic, and I work in the travel industry, so the more recent ones post pandemic are more important to show how travel has shifted. I have also not taught at NYU since the pandemic - though I loved it, I have been traveling full time since June 2020 filming our shows SLEEPING AROUND SAFELY and OH THE PEOPLE YOU MEET with Michaela Guzy. None of our awards from film festivals appear. Even the conference that I spoke at and is mentioned is so old and pre-pandemic.

If you could copy the document you’ve linked across to the talk page of the article, and list any changes you’d like made there (you’ll need to provide reliable sources per Misplaced Pages’s policy - news outlets reporting on your work or any interviews you’ve done would be great in this case) I’m happy to help out as soon as I can. With regards to the notability tag, that can be taken down with additional reliable sources (see WP:GNG) - I’ll review this tag when I’m back and will remove if policy allows, I imagine with these additional edits it is highly likely that it will be removed if it cannot be already, and I apologise that it has made you feel insulted, I’m happy to help you get that taken off.
