The Pugese is a dog crossbreed bred from a Pug and a Chinese Crested Dog.

Characteristics

The Pugese stands between 10 and 13 inches (25 and 33 centimeters) and weighs between 11 and 15 pounds (5 and 6.9 kilograms). Their lifespan is between 12 and 14 years. Pugese dogs typically have low energy. They are affectionate with their family, but may be cautious of strangers, and may be susceptible to separation anxiety.

Pugese dogs vary greatly in appearance, and dogs from the same litter may not necessarily look similar. They may have various different coat colors and different levels of fur coverage. Some Pugese dogs are noted to be "ugly", and a Pugese once won the title of "Britain's ugliest dog".

Health

Pugese dogs may inherit health issues from their parent breeds, such as respiratory issues, dental problems, skin allergies, and eye conditions. In particular, they are susceptible to luxating patella, Pug encephalitis, acne, and dry eye syndrome. They may also have brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome due to having short snouts.
