This is more true when the Sri Lankan batsmen are performing particularly well, and have a good batting partnership going. Ranjith Fernando's curse againts Sri Lankan batsmen is a better weapon for breaking a partnership than a bowling change by the opposing captain. Edward Ranjit Fernando (born February 22, 1944, Colombo) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played three ODIs, all of which were during the 1975 Cricket World Cup during which he was the wicket-keeper and opening batsman. He later worked as the team manager for the Sri Lankan cricket team, and as a cricket commentator.
