On 13 October 2024, Hezbollah conducted a drone attack on a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the IDF's Zar'it barracks in Binyamina, Israel. The attack killed three Israelis, and wounded at least 40.
Strike
On October 13, 2024, a drone launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon entered Israeli airspace and fired a missile towards the Israeli Zar'it military barracks near the northern Israeli town of Binyamina before exploding. The incident resulted in three deaths and injuries to at least 40 people, with four individuals reported in critical condition. Medical teams, including a helicopter, were dispatched to the scene to evacuate and provide emergency care to the wounded.
The attack involved the launch of three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from Lebanon. While two of the drones were intercepted, one managed to penetrate deep into Israeli territory, crashing in the Binyamina area. The drone incursion occurred without the activation of alarm systems that would normally signal such an attack.
Casualties
Magen David Adom (the Israeli medical service, or MDA) reported that four people were critically injured, five seriously, and 14 moderately. Three of the injured were airlifted to Sheba Medical Center, while two were taken to Rambam Health Care Campus. An additional 28 victims were transported to various hospitals by ambulance.
