According to local media, an explosion occurred at the site, and was followed by gunfire. CCTV footage reportedly showed a man and a woman carrying assault rifles. Hostages have reportedly been taken.

Interior Minister of Turkey Ali Yerlikaya wrote on X that "A terrorist attack was carried out against the Turkish Aerospace Industries... Unfortunately, we have martyrs and injured people." Mansur Yavaş, the mayor of Ankara, said that he was "saddened" by the incident.
