The term Radio Free America is a play on the term Radio Free Europe, a broadcast organization founded by the United States Congress to combat Communism. Radio Free America has since been co-opted by several other endeavors.
- For two different 1980s-1990s talk radio shows with this name, see David Emory and Tom Valentine.
- For the 1973 religious pirate radio station, see Pirate_radio_in_North_America#Stations_from_international_waters.
