Ratneshwar Mukherjee (19 December 1909 - 13 November 1980), who is also known as Ratneshwar Mukhapadhay, Ratu Mukherjee or Ratu Mukhapadhay, was a famous Bangladeshi songwriter and music teacher.

Personal life
Ratneshwar Mukherjee was born in British India's (now Bangladesh) Ujirpur, Barisal Division. His father, Gajendrananath Mukherjee was obsessed with music. Gajendranath lived with Rajanikanta Sen, a Bengali poet. Ratneshwar had nine more brothers. Out of them, only Ratneshwar and Siddheshwar was interested in music. Kazi Najrul Islam was a friend of Ratneshwar Mukherjee. Ratneshwar Mukherjee was expert in both ancient Bengali music and modern music. He was famous as a music teacher. He was commonly known as 'Ratu Mukhapadhay' among other Bengali musicians. He was also known as a songwriter and composer. He taught Manabendra Mukhopadhyay, his nephew and a famous Indian vocalist.
Death
He died in 13 November 1980 in the city of Kolkata.
