He edited Diary of a Christian Soldier: Rufus Kinsley and the Civil War about Rufus Kinsley (1831–1911) and his diary. One reviewer was laudatory though noting a few mistakes and calling for more maps of the areas discussed.
He edited and wrote the introduction to My Passage at the New Orleans Tribune; A Memoir of the Civil War Era by Jean-Charles Houzeau.
