Mackay Radio, officially known as Mackay Radio & Telegraph Company, was established in 1925 by Clarence H. Mackey, inspired by his father John Mackay's legacy in telegraph and cable communications.
Introduction
Mackay Radio & Telegraph Company was established in 1925 in Nevada by Clarence Mackey. It was one of the earliest radio and telegraph companies and it is still operating under the name of Mackay Communications, Inc., based in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is not only one of the earliest radio and telegraph companies in US but also in the world.
Mackay provided its technology to allies to beat the technology advances of Communist, Marxist, and Socialist by manufacturing and designing state-of-the-art radio communications systems.
Activities
The company played a pivotal role in maritime communications, providing essential radio services that connected ships at sea with land-based networks. It provided technologies to allies during WWII.
