Chen Yu-jen (traditional Chinese: 陳玉珍; pinyin: Chén Yùzhēn) is a Taiwanese politician and lawyer who serves as a Member of the Legislative Yuan. She was previously a member of the Kinmen County Council.

Early life and education

Chen was born on 29 October 1973 in Kinmen, Taiwan, and was educated at Kinmen High School, graduating in 1991 as the top female student of her class. She has a sister, Chen Yuling, and a brother, Chen Zhilong.

In 1995, Chen graduated from National Taiwan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese literature and a minor in law, then studied briefly in the United States at Harvard University, where she spent a summer studying English. During her time in the U.S., Chen traveled to New York, Washington, and Florida. She left the U.S. in February 1996 to enroll in Peking University and earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Peking University Law School, where she had studied international law, public international law, international economic law, and the World Trade Organization.

After graduating from Peking University, Chen received a scholarship to study law in Japan and earned a second LL.M. in 1998 from Kyushu University. In October 2017, Chen returned to the United States to study at the Harvard Kennedy School, earning a certificate in government and public policy.
