The Battle of Zavrtaljka (Croatian: Bitka za Zavrtaljku) was a 6-day-long battle fought between the Croatian Defence Council and Croatian Army against the ARBiH during the Croat–Bosniak War. 11 soldiers of the HVO were killed.
Battle
In the period from January 31 to February 5, the HVO launched the Zavrtaljka campaign, with the aim of occupying the dominant elevations in the Kiseljak municipality.
By occupying Zavrtaljka, a hill about 3 km (1.9 mi) southwest of Bilalovac, on the Busovača-Kiseljak road, the HVO made it difficult for the ARBiH to advance in that direction and therefore relieved pressure on the HVO forces in Lašvanska dolina.
Aftermath
On February 15, after several days of heavy fighting, units of the Knights Brigade of the HVO captured the settlement of Buhine Kuće, which had been lost a month earlier, and brought the Busovača road back under control. The memorial to those who died is in Brestovsko, near Zavrtaljka.
