An Abandoned Team (Chinese: 得寵先生 or earlier 狗轉人生) is a Hong Kong drama film released in 2024 starring Lawrence Cheng, Amy Lo, Jay Fung and Bonnie Wong.
Plot
A 60-year-old bad-tempered loner, Uncle Gai (Lawrence Cheng) decides to head to the mountains to end his life. Fortunately, at the critical moment, he is discovered by a stray dog named Roast Piggy (Little), who leads animal volunteer Una (Amy Lo) to rescue him from danger. Roast Piggy changes Uncle Gai’s original dislike for dogs, inspiring him to join Una’s animal shelter as a volunteer to help abandoned animals. Una also helps Uncle Gai mend a decades-long estranged relationship with his daughter. Just as Uncle Gai believes his life is getting back on track, a shocking incident occurs in his village where dozens of stray dogs are poisoned to death...
