2025 Controversy over California wildfires refers to public debate over the California wildfires of 2025 and whether any public figures or policies are to blame, either partly or fully.

In January 2025, President-Elect Donald Trump called on Governor Gavin Newsom to resign, attributing blame to Newsom for the shortages of water.

Various celebrities blamed officials of the City of Los Angeles for not providing sufficient resources and personnel to assist people trying to escape.
