Biography

Wahid Payman, son of Sayed Fazal Ahmad Payman, a renowned poet of Afghanistan, was born in 1984 in the city of Herat. He began his primary education in Badghis Province, but after the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, his family migrated to Iran. Payman continued his secondary education in Iran and, following the Taliban's fall and his family's return to Afghanistan, completed his higher education with a master's degree in International Relations in Herat.

Journalism Career

Wahid Payman began his career in journalism in 2005 as a reporter for National Television of Afghanistan. With the establishment of 8AM Daily, he initially managed the newspaper's operations in Herat Province in western Afghanistan. After leaving the newspaper for a period, he worked as a broadcast manager for Mihan TV and Radio Mardum. In 2018, Payman returned to 8AM Daily, this time as the editor-in-chief, and moved to Kabul.
