Anurag Singh,a resident of Devidas village in Sahar block, Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh, is the founder of the NGO "Aao Milkar Karen Madad." Despite being a victim of paralysis since childhood, Anurag has made it his life’s mission to provide education to underprivileged children and empower women in his area. His illness never became a hurdle, and he is determined that poverty should not obstruct any child's access to education.
Born into a family of five brothers and two sisters, Anurag’s struggles began when he was paralyzed six months after his birth. While he recovered from the paralysis by the age of one and a half, he began suffering from seizures at the age of three. Despite these medical challenges, Anurag’s education never stopped, and he eventually completed an LLB. His determination and hard work have shaped him into a community leader who now runs a successful NGO, providing free education and resources to children in need.
At the age of 15, Anurag began his career as a computer teacher, earning Rs. 2,500, which helped him continue his studies. However, he suffered from Gliosis, a serious medical condition that left him bedridden for five years. It was during this time that he began to lose hope, but his family and friends, especially his close friend Sumit Gupta, gave him the strength to continue. Tragically, Sumit passed away in a road accident in 2014, but his words, "Life never ends with some problems," left a lasting impact on Anurag, inspiring him to start "Aao Milkar Karen Madad."

Anurag's journey has been filled with personal loss and hardship. In 2017, his mother fell into a coma and passed away later that year. Soon after, Anurag was diagnosed with a serious heart condition, which required open-heart surgery in November 2018. The surgery, which saved his life, was supported financially by his friend and colleague, Dr. Rajesh Anuragi, and Professor Rajkumar from Delhi University. Despite these challenges, Anurag's resolve to help others remained unshaken.
Today, "Aao Milkar Karen Madad" provides free education to hundreds of children in Anurag's village. The NGO not only offers academic support but also promotes extracurricular activities such as photography, music, and cultural programs. For the holistic development of these children, Anurag regularly takes them on educational trips to places like zoos and museums. Two of the children from the NGO, Aastha and Harsh Kumar, have successfully passed entrance exams for prestigious institutions like Navodaya Vidyalaya and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya.
In addition to education, Anurag has opened a sports academy for girls, where they play cricket—a rare opportunity for girls in rural areas. Despite initial resistance from families, Anurag and his team worked hard to convince parents to allow their daughters to participate in sports. Today, the girls in his village practice regularly and play cricket on the field, marking a significant change in their lives.
Anurag’s NGO also focuses on empowering women. The women’s team in his organization, led by girls like Anuradha, Vijaya, and Ekta, works to spread awareness about women’s rights and issues like "Save the Daughter." They also assist in various campaigns to collect and distribute winter clothes to the needy and support girls from underprivileged backgrounds in their marriages.
The organization is run entirely through the contributions of Anurag and his friends, who fund the NGO with their salaries from private jobs. Anurag and his friends Rajesh Anuragi, Yash Kumar, Rohit Verma, and Bhanu Pratap Singh work tirelessly, not for monetary gain, but for the betterment of society. The team of volunteers, including Rohit, Amit, Vikas, Abhishek, and Vipin, provides free education to thousands of children. Anurag is especially proud of his team of girls who are helping spread awareness among rural women.
Anurag’s commitment to education and social service has earned him recognition, but he remains humble and focused on his mission. He is also passionate about journalism, writing poems and articles in his spare time. Reflecting on his journey, Anurag says, "I forget my illness and feel happy when I am among the children. Today, I am very happy with my work."
Despite the odds, Anurag’s life is a testament to resilience, hope, and the power of community. His dedication to providing free education and empowering women continues to inspire many, proving that even the toughest challenges can be overcome with determination and a desire to serve others. Through his NGO, "Aao Milkar Karen Madad," Anurag is shaping a brighter future for the children and women in his community, one step at a time.
