The Nathan M. Newmark Medal was established in 1975 by the Engineering Mechanics Institute and Structural Engineering Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) to honor Nathan Mortimore Newmark for his outstanding contributions in structural engineering and mechanics. Recipients must be members of ASCE. Nominations are made once a year and due on November 1.
