Natalie Grant (born on December 21 1971 in Seattle, Washington) is a singer-songwriter in the area of contemporary Christian music. Her recent work has gained prominence, with the Dove Award for best female artist, and with her popular single, "Held". Born in Seattle, she currently lives in Nashville with her husband, Bernie Herms. She attended Northwest College/University a small private Christian school in Kirkland, Washington. She was awarded the 2006 and 2007 Gospel Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year.

Biography

Besides recording songs, she has also worked to bring awareness to the problem of children being sold as sex slaves in sex trades around the world. While watching an episode of Law and Order, she was appalled to learn that this even happened in the United States. As a result, she has started the HOME Foundation, an organization that raises awareness of the issue of human trafficking.

As a young woman she suffered from bulimia and has since used her celebrity status to increase awareness of the disease.

On February 16, 2007, Natalie gave birth to twin daughters, Grace Ana Herms and Isabella Noelle Herms.
