I really question this information. TV shows have feautred Jewish-Christian marriages for a very long time - at least since '']'' in the early 1970s. Which Jewish groups have criticized this show? When? Also, this article makes it seem as if Jewish groups are criticizing the show because a non-Jewish actor is playing a Jew. Huh? This has also been going on for a very long time. I'd like to see some evidence of this "controversy," please. ] 16:52, May 20, 2005 (UTC) | I really question this information. Thank you, Tony Sideway, for taking it out again. It's such a silly thing - a few people on blogs complaining about it signals a "controversy" - but I was trying to find consensus by at least moderating the langauge. I'm glad someone else is watching it, and understands that at the very last it requires a citation or two. Most Jews have much more on their minds than a FOX television show whose worst offense is intermarriage - something that is has been very common in the U.S. for decades (though it's true Orthodox Jews don't like it) and has been portrayed on television for decades as well. ] 02:45, May 22, 2005 (UTC) |

I don't know if Ryan fell in love with Marissa. Of course it'd be easier to tell if they stayed together for more than a day.
Thanks for that clarification. From all accounts I've heard, next to no one called it "OC" or "The O.C." It was a name that was basically made up for the show. Mike H 23:22, Aug 28, 2004 (UTC)
It's usually "Behind the Orange curtain". :) RickK 23:24, Aug 28, 2004 (UTC)
- Wouldn't have expected anything less. :-) Mike H 23:24, Aug 28, 2004 (UTC)
- Actually, I dispute that- We've been calling it "OC" my entire life. BuddhaInABucket
I added some season 2 plots...as I'm a newbie here, please correct me if I misformatted anything or the like. Also, feel free to add anything I missed.
Quick change -- the part of Caleb's right-hand man Shaun was played by an actor named Richard Herd (he played George's boss Mr. Wilhelm on Seinfeld). It wasn't Karl Malden, but the confusion is understandable given the fact that Richard Herd bears an uncanny resemblance to Karl Malden!
About the link to 'Michael Cassidy' as the actor who plays Zach. Is he really a Canadian politician?
- I rather doubt it, as that Michael Cassidy is 68 years old. --Saforrest 17:40, Mar 3, 2005 (UTC)
"Welcome to the dark side"
I just watched the first episode for the first time and it's definitely Ryan, not Seth, who says this line. I didn't just swap the names in the article because it seems like there might be some further editing necessary. Someone care to take care of it?
Actually, they *both* say "Welcome to the dark side". Seth says it as they enter the fashion show, thinking that the cocktails and superficiality is the dark side; Ryan says it as they enter the party.

Paragraph on "Jewish controversy"
I really question this information. TV shows have feautred Jewish-Christian marriages for a very long time - at least since Bridget Loves Bernie in the early 1970s. Which Jewish groups have criticized this show? When? Also, this article makes it seem as if Jewish groups are criticizing the show because a non-Jewish actor is playing a Jew. Huh? This has also been going on for a very long time. I'd like to see some evidence of this "controversy," please. Moncrief 16:52, May 20, 2005 (UTC)
