Monthly Challenge: June Stub Review! Take a moment and sift through the roughly 3,600 Stub-class LGBT articles. Are they still stubs? If not, make an assessment change. Even better, do you see anything you can add/edit to increase the rating? Let's see if the project can lower the number of stubs down below 3,000!

commons:image:Trophy.jpg

Do you remember anything about the copyright of that specific image? Its currently on dr at commons - see commons:Commons:Deletion_requests/Image:Trophy.jpg, and I was hoping you might remember something about its source. Bawolff 22:06, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Yes - it was actually a press release snapshot photograph from an NIH function. It appears that NIH has deleted the source ohot from its site. The award was part of an otherwise very busy picture, but the shot was head-on so I could cut out all the extraneous people, etc. To cover some of the jagged lines from the edit, I added a drop shadow - which look as if it has been badly cropped by some other Wiki editor. - Davodd 16:06, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
(Sorry to pop in, I have your talk on watchlist from a previous message I left you) Do you by chance remember the source page? Not necessarily the exact URL, which would be impractical, but perhaps whether the image was on a press release or some other type of page, and any other details like the date (or year) of the NIH function? Thanks, Iamunknown 17:26, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
I do know the original URL: http://www.nidcr.nih.gov/NR/rdonlyres/F52F097F-B37C-4B74-80FB-8321BDA72953/0/student2.jpg - the "NR" behind ".gov/" is for news releases. But it appears they redesigned the site when they added RSS fees a few months ago. I do not remember the year, but it was more than 2 years ago. Once that happened, the obvious nature of its "public domain"-ness disappeared and then it was nominated for deletion. - Davodd 20:40, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:MainPage-Avant-Davodd.png

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:MainPage-Avant-Davodd.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:43, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

I dont' care, personally - the screen cap was requested to be uploaded years ago to show what the then-new Misplaced Pages front page looked like on different browsers. Although it does seem to have some significance as a historical record for this project. - Davodd 22:25, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Recently orphaned due to de-logo bot tyaking it ouot of a History of... page. It would be a shame to delete this image since it is rare and some future historian may find a use for it. - Davodd 23:53, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Misplaced Pages:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Misplaced Pages:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Misplaced Pages:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:17, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
