Wow, You actually care this much about ''barnstars''. I am utterly unable to respond to that last statement. Huh. At the risk of offending your many deeply-entrenched convictions about cyberculture, I must confess that you have me speechless on this one. I sincerely have no idea what to say here. Words fail me. We'll just have to agree to disagree. Wow. - Mosquera. Wow, You actually care this much about ''barnstars''. I am utterly unable to respond to that last statement. Huh. My full length image rationale is here. My statement on anti-fair use hysteria is here.

Why thank you

Thanks for the barnstar! It is clear that you and I are on the same page re our mutual "friend". PageantUpdater 01:50, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

The irony is that we were both targeted after posting pictures of pretty girls. Maybe the problem is something more than policy. ;-)

Groovy

Love your "world's most detailed explanation". Mind if I cut and paste it onto the explanation for some of my images and await the inevitable non-response? ==OneCyclone 04:35, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Feel free. I hope it helps. Mosquera 04:38, 12 July 2007

Essay

Very good essay here. You should make it available at your user page, somewhere. You can move the barnstar wherever you like. Badagnani 17:30, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I attempted to rationally discuss the relevant issues with the editor who accused me of faking my barnstar, among other things. I tried fervently to explain that I am a human being, not an ideological cipher. The response was nonexistent. 18:08, 12 July 2007 (UTC)~
  • You are certainly welcome to your opinions on my response Mosquera. I'm sorry that you (inaccurately) feel the way you do and wish there was some means by which I could explain things to you. Evidently, there is not. That's ok, ultimately. I am not concerned about your opinions so long as you abide by our policies and practices here. --Durin 18:20, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Durin, I understand. You are ideologically committed to The Cause of free content. I get that. You donate vast amounts of pro-bono effort to lobby for your vision of how things out to be. I get that. But I'm just a guy, more like the average Misplaced Pages editor than the average admin. I am not here to conform to your opinions, nor you mine, especially over a 75px jpeg. I'm not kidding! It was 75px! - Mosquera.

  • I don't care about the size. That's of no relevance to me. The source of the barnstar is what was improper, and I instructed you on that. ANYbody can say they got an award from somewhere, anywhere. It's not legitimate if there's no local source user who's awarding it to you. By providing a source, your legitimizing it. This is a good thing. Rather than have people suspect you're self-awarding barnstars, you have an actual source for it now. Barnstars are truly meaningless, and carry no weight on Misplaced Pages. But, self-awarding barnstars is viewed very poorly. By getting you to clean up the source of it, I helped you and I should have thought you would appreciate that. I'm sorry you didn't, but what I did was entirely proper. --Durin 18:44, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
