"Gary's Desk" is the 8th episode of the 4th season of the HBO television series Entourage.
Plot Summary
With the guys' current housing situation confining them much more, it has made it difficult for E to read offers, and to get in contact with Peter Jackson, whose video game company Vince would like to work with. To remedy this, he rents an office suite so he can read offers for Vince and answer the phone. However, the guys are appalled to see E is using a card table for a desk, so they set out to find one that is much nicer. Meanwhile, Ari is at the office, preparing for his annual meeting with client Mary J. Blige. He is hyping it to the other employees, who are ready, except for the Jensen twins. They are both furious at each other, claiming the other needs to be fired, although neither says why.
At an antiques store, Vince, Drama, and Turtle spot a desk with a rich Hollywood past, including it being a gift from Martin Scorscesse to Robert De Niro after Raging Bull, and immediately buy it, only to find it was already sold- to Gary Busey. Having had numerous conflicts in the past, the guys set out to his house to make an offer to buy it off of him.
At the office, E calls Variety, asking to take out an ad for his new company, called "The Murphy Group" (despite E being the only employee). Wanting it to say he represents Vincent Chase, E once again hears the usual response, "Ari Gold represents Vincent Chase", prompting E to hang up. He later gets a call from Shauna, who tells him of a rep she knows at the paper who will do a write-up on him. As for the rest of the friends, they arrive at Busey's house, who aggrees to let them have the desk, provided he can paint on Drama for his next art project.
At Ari's office, the conflict between the twins reaches a breaking point when they begin to fight in the conference room as the Blige meeting nears. He puts them in his office, and learns that one brother had sex with the other's wife. Ari, though visible disgusted at the one who committed it, determines they can't work together, and fires his brother based on earnings. The meeting follows, with Mary J. disappointed Ari had to fire one of her favorite agents. This situation only gets worse when they run into him on the elevator, who quickly explains what happened. Mary J. leaves, disgusted with Ari. Knowing she's left for rival agency ICM, Ari is further enraged, and fires the other brother as well.
After the boys leave Busey's house, they arrange for the desk to be delivered to E's office, only to see they can't because it won't fit up the stairs or in the elevator. The news only gets worse when they find E a headline on the new Variety, in a story titled "The new nepotism in Hollywood". With E dejected, Vince cheers him up by renting a new, much larger office for him, as well as adjacent offices for Vince, Drama, and Turtle. The episode concludes with a call from Peter Jackson, who tells E to never mind the bad press and he'd be happy to work with Vince, aksing E "for his assistant to call my assistant", and E informs them he'll now have to hire someone.
