Tay Zonday (b. July 6, 1982) (born Adam Bahner) is a 25 year old singer, songwriter and vocalist. He has appeared on the Opie & Anthony Show, Best Week Ever, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, where his performance received mixed reactions due to Zonday's mannerisms, such as moving away from the mic to breathe in, and unusual deep voice.

Reactions

The Australian Daily Telegraph newspaper says: "Tay Zonday has written perhaps the most listened to song in the world right now". People Magazine wrote: "He's scored a YouTube hit with his repetitive, keyboard-driven "Chocolate Rain," and after a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tay Zonday's star is shining even brighter." According to People, such professional musicians as John Mayer and Tre Cool have expressed admiration for the song, or have covered it. AC Media's "Dark Wizard" says: "Tay Zonday is now an internet star whether you love him or hate him, you cannot deny his musical talent." His fame is due in large part to /b/, a much revered board on the infamous 4chan.org. He is truly destined to become an hero.

When music downloading services such as Napster came around, he began to secretly build a small collection of mp3s. He described himself as an "actual orphan," having no influences and not feeling particularly connected to any musicians or bands.

Tay has not released an album, but has released a number of singles.

His most notable single is titled Chocolate Rain. He has also performed covers of "Rainbow Connection" and "Never Gonna Give You Up".
