Catherine Tate is a British actress and comedienne, whose BBC2 solo series of 2004, The Catherine Tate Show, received wide acclaim.

Tate was born in London and made her television debut in 1994. She appeared in comedy series such as Big Train, Wild West and That Peter Kay Thing before being given her own show, which she co-wrote with Darren Litten.
