Anthony Taylor is a Football League referee from Wythenshawe. He was appointed to the League List at the start of season 2006/2007. He had previously refereed within the Football Conference. In November 2006 took charge of an England Under 19 international friendly versus Switzerland.

After a game between Hull City and Charlton Athletic on 2nd October 2007 he received considerable criticism from the managers of both teams over his handling of the game. During the game there were many disputed decisions, a disallowed goal and two sendings off, both of which were disputed by the team managers.
