I took it out because it can give the user the impression that maybe what they did was not vandalism.
- "If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. If your edit was not vandalism, please feel free to make your edit again after reporting it."
Some "edits" are like this, and they can be vandalism or good faith. This was not, it was blatant. If a new contributor does something that could go either way, the message is appropriate, in this case, it was only one way, garbage. So, the warning should not be ambiguous about it. Otherwise they'll get the wrong idea, the idea that maybe it was alright. WikiDon 22:46, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

- Oh, silly me. I see so many of those that I assume its meaning without reading it. Thanks again! Gscshoyru 22:54, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Deorphaning team
Hi there, I was thinking that the deorphaning team should be a WikiProject instead of an organization. Perhaps Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Deorphan or something along those lines. At the moment the team is fairly unstructured, and fits into the the same category as things like the recent changes patrol and the typo organization. At the moment it's simple: identify the problem, then fix it.
However, I think that deorphaning is far more complex than that. I'd like to bring more structure to the deorphaning task, such as sub-categories, ranks of importance, guides on deorphaning, and so on. If there was a specific reason that you did not propose the deorphaning team as a project, please let me know. Davidovic 01:30, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the speedy reply. I've stated my case (I think more clearly ^^) over at the talk page. And I've also added a proposal here. Three members support the change (including myself), but as you were the creator of the team, I'd really like to hear your opinion on my ideas before doing anything major. Thanks, Davidovic 02:04, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Re: OverlordQBot
Hello, Gurch. I noticed your reply here. Just so you know, it is against the rules to remove the sandbox header, as it contains instructions about the sandbox for new members. Thanks, and happy editing! Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 01:57, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed it does. However, you appear to have some misconceptions about the way the rules work. Contributors editing the sandbox are by definition inexperienced users who have not yet learned the intricacies of Misplaced Pages policy. It is essential that we do not bite them in unnecessary ways. Thanks – Gurch 01:59, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, but it is important we keep the header there, people have to know the header is supposed to be there.
{{Please leave this line alone (sandbox heading)}} <!-- Hello! Feel free to try your formatting and editing skills below this line. As this page is for editing experiments, this page will automatically be cleaned every 12 hours. -->
- That is why I suggsted the function. And I don't see how IAR applies, IAR doesn't say "remove the header inexdperienced editors will find very helpful when they edit in the sandbox." Thank you for your concerns. Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 02:57, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Of course not. What it (and this) collectively say is, if new users remove the sandbox heading, just quietly put it back and continue as though nothing has happened. Which is what we do. The idea of actually labelling edits in the sandbox as vandalism is silly. The philosophy behind this predates Misplaced Pages and is one of the principles it has usually followed since; see meatball:SoftSecurity. Thanks – Gurch 03:03, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

- Thank you very much! :) --極地狼 ( 我是一头死的狼 ) 03:01, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Actually, never mind about that! I just found it: User:The Hybrid/Blank- Thanks for trying to find it anyway! ^_^ --極地狼 ( 我是一头死的狼 ) 03:12, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
極地狼 ( 我是一头死的狼 ) has given you the blank stare and no longer cares what you say. Possibly due to Hanlon's razor, which states "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.", or because this user knows he is correct no matter what you say. Spread the indifference by ignoring someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. 極地狼 ( 我是一头死的狼 ) 03:57, 26 October 2007 (UTC)(Sorry about that, I've always wanted to put that on someones talk page too ^_^) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Polarwolf (talk • contribs) 03:58, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Abuse reports/JPS vandal
I don't understand why it was rejected, obviously the guy knows what he's doing. Look in the page history, see how long he's been doing it. Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 21:02, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- Per this there needs to be at least one full cycle of warnings. Per this there needs to be at least 5 recent blocks. This report met neither, so I refused it. Continue warnings and blocks for now. Nburden 02:29, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- But the thing is, there is no time to warn him. (Look in the page history and see how fast he edits). Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 02:31, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- He edits fast, but one can still warn him. The only warning he's gotten is a 4im; take him through a full series once and one more block, and he qualifies. Nburden 02:56, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I have a question for you, you say your articles are under construction, are they not? Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 03:39, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, they are not fully developed. I do not have as much free time to work on wikipedia as I would like. They are currently stubs. I see no point in deleting them.— Steven Andrew Miller (talk) 03:42, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

Look at all the opposes on my RfA. I am especially hurt by this comment: If you do not make an effort to help make this true, you're hurting the encyclopedia, and would do more bad than good if given the mop. NHRHS2010 talk 04:16, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Well, Eddie thinks that I will abuse the tools. I wouldn't do that, because I know how harmful it is to Misplaced Pages: abusing tools would be worse then vandalism and I don't want to do that. NHRHS2010 talk 04:32, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
