| I should probably provide a better reason for why I removed the content. The statement "perceived by some...as the pinnacle of "Aryan" music." is quite unverifiable, as well as not falsifiable. I strongly believe (having seen BOAN, though not with the original score) that no one would consider the Ride of the Valkyries as a pinnacle of Aryan Music. Other works by Wagner would certainly be more appropriate (eg. ], which plainly advocated German Nationalism, and was used as Nazi Propaganda). Ride of the Valkyries is not a serious piece (The Valkyries often laugh out loud during it, as did the audience at a recent production of Walküre that I saw). However, this is all beside the point. If you can source such a claim, then by all means include it. | |||

Ride of the Valkyries
Hi there,
I've stated my point of view on the reference to "Birth Of A Nation" over at Talk:Ride_of_the_Valkyries#Birth_Of_A_Nation. Personally I've never felt that a list of contexts in which a piece has been used is very illuminating as regards telling anything about the piece itself. It also has the potential to become bloated out of all proportion to the material which is actually about the work. Yourself and others may well disagree.
